B&B: Katie’s Christmas negligée surprise for Wyatt was adorable.

DAYS: Gabi getting through to JJ about what his suicide would do to his loved ones was powerful and realistic. It gave both actors great material and explored the very real consequences of such a drastic decision. And seeing Matthew Ashford back as Jack is always a treat.

GH: Sam and Jason reminiscing about the past during the holidays was touching and poignant, and Sam and Drew’s engagement was romantic and sweet. These scenes reminded us why we like both couples so much. It’s going to be tough choosing between JaSam and DreAm….

Y&R: Billy needed a heart-to-heart with Jill. All of his galavanting around lately hasn’t been very endearing, so their chat about fulfillment and the meaning of life was a welcome change.

Biggest WTF (Wow, That’s…Funny?) Moment

Ciara and Claire’s ornament-breaking brawl on DAYS was likely meant to be hilarious, and in concept it was funny, but the two girls just looked like little brats. The rivalry between these headstrong young women works, but let’s reel in the pettiness just a bit.

Things That Made Us Go Hmmm….

B&B: Who has their OB/GYN on speed dial? Steffy seems to have a direct line to her doctor, who answers immediately. In a perfect world…

DAYS: Did JJ really think Lani would be able to enjoy tickets to a Rihanna concert that were attached to his suicide note? We appreciate the gesture, but….

GH: It’s nice that while juggling two young kids, a new media conglomerate and having life as they know it torn apart by Jason’s return, Sam and Drew keep finding the time to redo their penthouse — but what are the odds that they would choose the exact same flooring that Liz has in her brownstone?

Y&R: It felt like Abby went from zero to 100 on J.T. after he asked her to hang out. She should know he’s not a jerk (usually/anymore).  

Family Values

It’s great to see the Quartermaine house lively again! New additions Oscar and Kim, as well as Drew, are great steps toward revitalizing one of the show’s most iconic families.

Good Guys Finish Last

Poor Ravi on Y&R! He finally got to be with Ashley after all these months, and she admits that she used him to feel good about herself. We all saw it coming, but it was sad to see Ravi heartbroken.
