Soap Superlatives
Stand-Out Scenes
B&B: It was a nice thaw in the frosty Thorne/Ridge dynamic when Thorne agreed to be Ridge’s best man. With Katie as maid of honor, the show is clearly starting to set up a Thorne/Katie connection, so we’re excited to see Wyatt step up and have to fight for her heart.
DAYS: Andre’s funeral was appropriately soapy, filled with humor, pathos and suspicion. Vivian’s nasty one-liners continue to delight, while Abby’s reaction to losing her friend and brother-in-law felt real and sad. Runner-up: Welcome back, Carrie! Good on her for reminding Hope and Rafe that they have broken the law in the past, so they should be a little more lenient on Roman for telling a lie.
GH: Nathan’s death rocked Port Charles this week, with performances we won’t soon forget from Kirsten Storms (Maxie), Michelle Stafford (Nina) and Kathleen Gati (Obrecht), to name a few. We’ll miss you, Nathan!
Y&R: It was nice to see Mariah and Tessa talk things out. Camryn Grimes (Mariah) and Cait Fairbanks (Tessa) have great chemistry, and whether their characters stay friends or develop into something more, we’re glad to see them interacting with each other.
Things That Made Us Go Hmmm
B&B: Why does R.J. always wander around looking like he runs Forrester Creations? Isn’t he a little young?
DAYS: For an ISA agent, John is pretty reckless. He’s in the middle of the park, out in the open, using a cell phone to discuss killing someone. Later, he’s sitting in the Brady Pub futzing with a bottle of poison. No wonder Paul and Will know something’s going on!
GH: If Kevin took Faison’s brain, why didn’t Faison’s head have so much as a stitch on it when Anna went to see the body?
Y&R: If Chelsea’s getting back to her scheming ways, she might want to stop looking so guilty whenever she talks to Nick.
Sit Down, Sonny
DAYS’s Sonny is becoming even more annoying. He wants to contest the divorce, thinking that Will is suddenly going to remember their life together. All Sonny is going to do is make the situation worse. Who would have thought we’d be rooting for Paul and Will to get together?
