Soap Superlatives
Stand-Out Scenes
B&B: Bill once again tried to woo Steffy and she once again rebuffed his advances. But when Bill told Steffy that she was able to hurt him, there was a twinge of guilt in Steffy. This tale is more complicated than it seems; does Steffy actually, somewhere, have feelings for Dollar Bill? Time will tell….
DAYS: This new, angry Gabi is very intriguing! It’s realistic that she would have a hard time believing, let alone forgiving, Abigail for everything her alters did. We just wonder how far Gabi’s anger will go.
GH: As always, the Nurses’ Ball has been filled with moments to remember; we particularly enjoyed watching Josh Swickard strut his stuff as Chase conquered his stage fright and the ultra-romantic proposal that led Curtis and Jordan to become Port Charles’s newest engaged couple.
Y&R: Neil attempted to talk Jack out of falling off the wagon. Neil reminded Jack that he’s not the only person to suffer a loss or learn a difficult secret, then threatened to fall off the wagon himself if Jack did (a reverse psychology move that admittedly didn’t work). The scenes were poignant and showcased the talents of portrayers Kristoff St. John (Neil) and Peter Bergman (Jack).
Things That Made Us Go Hmmm
B&B: Katie! What are you talking about? What Bill is doing to Liam is absolutely wrong and there is no reason Wyatt should keep up the lie. Katie suddenly advocating for Hope’s happiness over the truth doesn’t make any sense.
DAYS: The show was going for tearjerker, but we found it highly unlikely that Tate would remember Theresa. He was 2 when she left! It would have been more touching and meaningful had Tate not remembered his mother and for Theresa to have realized just how impactful her disappearance was.
GH: When Bensch’s last-minute “kindness” made it possible for her to attend, Kiki went from make-up free in her scrubs to all dolled up for the ball in no time flat. Can she help us get ready for our next black-tie event?
Y&R: Victoria made a “confession” to Paul to put a stop to his constant questioning about J.T., but she was still shaky and clearly lying to him, which he could probably tell just from her body language. We’re glad this story is moving along, but it’d be nice if Victoria stopped being so obvious about hiding something.
Red Carpet Blues
As fun as the red carpet on GH’s Nurses’ Ball can be, we have an honest question: Who is watching? What television network is airing a local hospital fundraiser, and why is it getting so much media coverage? We ask this question every year, and each year the mystery only deepens….
