Stand-Out Scenes

B&B: How over-the-top (in a good way) was the big Caroline reveal? Her standing over Bill’s bed, ready to snap, was classic soap. She may well be a red herring in this ongoing “Who Shot Bill?” mystery, but it’s great to see Linsey Godfrey back.

DAYS: Valerie almost spilled the beans about Lani’s baby’s paternity! The scenes at the Brady Pub where Valerie nearly lost her composure were excellent and played into the history of the character (keeping Eli from his biological father). The story is also creating an interesting dynamic between Lani and Valerie; they’re civil because of Abe, but there’s bound to be a huge confrontation down the line. Also, count us in for a Tripp/Ciara pairing — they’re adorable.

GH: It’s good to see everyone putting the pieces together about the earthquake, from Jordan and Curtis to Ned. Jim Harvey is a smarmy villain, and it’ll be fun watching him get taken down a few notches.

Y&R: Victoria’s arrogance and Newman hubris is finally coming back to bite her. Her argument with Abby was true-to-life; everyone’s had moments where they’ve fought with their siblings, and their issues run deeper than “who’s the boss” at Newman.

Things That Made Us Go Hmmm

B&B: We get that Hope wants to be there for Liam while his father is in the hospital, but she really does seem to be everywhere lately. Hope is an important character, but having her as the moral compass for everyone on the show is getting to be a little grating.

DAYS: The Abby/Gabby/Dr. Laura story needs to expand beyond Stefan’s bedroom. Tyler Christopher (Stefan) and Marci Miller (Abby) are stuck in scenes that seem to go nowhere. Let’s see this tale kick into high gear.

GH: Sure, Drew and Franco got tased by Harvey’s goons, but Drew, a former Navy SEAL should have been able to fight them off, no?

Y&R: Lily’s got to stop interfering in Devon’s life. She has a loving husband and two children; surely she has better things to do than keep Devon and Hilary apart.

Sight Unseen

Dr. Laura has been “borrowing” glasses from everyone. We’re no experts, but if any of those are prescription lenses, she could give herself a real headache!
