So Long, Harmony!
The countdown to PASSIONS’ cancellation from NBC is on, but we’re not ready to say goodbye. Here are our projections for where Harmony’s locals can find new homes in daytime (in case that DIRECTV thing doesn’t work out…).
Luis and Sheridan should give it a go in THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS’ Genoa City, where local matriarch Katherine can call in psychic Sylvia Browne to do some past-life couples therapy with the star-crossed lovers. If they still can’t make it work, Sheridan can stay in town, since she and gal pal Victoria were made for each other. (Who else could appreciate Sheridan’s bid to create her own identity apart from being the daughter of a megalomaniac?) As for Luis, send him over to sister show AS THE WORLD TURNS. He’s a good egg, just like Jack, and Margo could use more dedicated cops at the OPD. Since those “fancy” Crane women keep breaking the top cop’s heart, a little TLC from a solid country gal like Meg might be just what the doctor ordered. And, after the likes of Paul and Craig, Meg can sure use a dose of “stand-up guy.” At the very least, Detective Lopez-Fitzgerald would improve the shoreside view at the Snyder pond!
Fancy should ditch Luis and head over to THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, where her fashion skills will be put to good use. Not that we’d suggest giving up her dream to be a police officer. With Hector MIA, the Forrester and Marone clans could use a new hero and she’d look sharp in an LAPD trainee uniform. Plus, if she needs a mature cop to make her forget Luis, she can look up handsome Lieutenant Baker! Then again, if she’s over dating the uniform, she might take a liking to tall, dark and handsome Clarke. Phoebe certainly wouldn’t complain about having a girlfriend to bond with, unless Fancy let crazy Esme follow her to town and set her (gun) sights on Rick.
Rebecca will begin suffering from severe headaches and then her alternate personality, a perky redhead named Tina, will surface. Tina ultimately demands they return to ONE LIFE TO LIVE’s Llanview, so they do.
Gwen is horrified to learn wacky Beccs actually stole her! It seems that when Rebecca took over Tina’s body, the wacko skipped over to ALL MY CHILDREN’s Pine Valley and absconded with Erica Kane’s top-secret baby girl. Yes, there was another one! Determined to meet her family, Gwen goes to Pine Valley and finds herself part of a new clan. The Fusion ladies can gain a good lawyer, and real-life mother/daughter team Susan Lucci (Erica) and Liza Huber are sure to work well together.
Ethan, desperate for a new triangle…er, romance, should ditch Gwen andTheresa and jump to OLTL’s Llanview, where he would delight in a love buffet, creating Nathan, Blaithan, Ethicca and Esay. After sowing his oats, he’ll find love in the last place he expected — a sexy redhead named Tina! He and the alter ego of his ex-mother-in-law build a life together, while the Buchanans, seeking a young executive (now that Kevin is in London and Duke is dead), enlist Ethan.
