Simon Says…Hello, Again Page 2

Weekly: Is he upset that she has moved on with Mike?
Leyden: Yeah. I played what was on the script, that he wanted to beat Mike up. But why would anybody want to do that? Simon faked his death, made her think that she was gone, so of course she mourned and she moved on.Weekly: Is it fun to be back with everyone at the set?
Leyden: Oh, yeah. That was another of the main reasons I was so looking forward to going back at some point. I love the crew. Everyone in production, all of the cast, it’s such a family out there [in Brooklyn]. It is such a great atmosphere. Everyone goes out there, does their work and there is not a bad word said between anyone. Everyone welcomed me back so warmly. They are my first New York family. It was like going back and having a bit of a reunion.Weekly: Is it good to be back with Terri?
Leyden: Of course. I see Terri a lot anyway outside of work. I speak to Terri on the phone every second day. Artie (Colombino, Terri’s husband) is one of my closest friends. My relationship with her has continued even since I left the show. With her and Martha (Byrne, Lily), especially. To be able to go back and have that on-screen relationship again, is really nice. We do have such a great way of working together. We connect in a special way and hopefully that shows on-screen.Weekly: What is next for you?
Leyden: I haven’t really had a pilot season since I have been in America. I am thinking I might go out there for a couple of months and see how that goes, and continue to push these two feature scripts that are finished. One is called Time Away and the other one I am still working on a title. Time Away is the one that is almost fully developed. It is a psychological thriller. I wrote it for one of my best friends who is an up-and-coming actress. She has got quite a few films coming out. As soon as I met her, I thought of this concept.Weekly: Would you come back again?
Leyden: Yeah. If you cut yourself off and say never, you just look foolish when you do. When I left the show I never said I would never go back. I left for personal reasons and having to do things that if I stayed on the show, I wouldn’t have accomplished. Since I have left the show I have accomplished so much this year, in my writing, other acting work. If they leave it open-ended and there was that invitation to come back again, of course I would.
