She’s Baaack!
Soap Opera Digest: Is it good to be back in Llanview yet again?
Tari Signor: Yes, it’s great. I love it.Digest: Is it fun to keep the audience guessing with all these disappearance/reappearance acts?
Signor: It keeps me guessing, too [laughs]. I never know until they call and then it’s like, “Oh, okay, great. That sounds fun!” They just call me and say they are bringing Margaret back. I never know what’s happening, so I’m with the audience. I guess I know a month ahead of them, but it’s like I get the script and I’m like, “Oh! That’s what happens?”Digest: Do all these returns ever just seem too ridiculous to you?
Signor: Well, when I first started, I thought with all the things Margaret’s been doing, there’s no way she could ever come back. But everybody would say to me that it’s a soap opera, so you could die, you could murder people and then come back as the best friend of everybody. So, it’s like one of those characters where you just have to accept that it’s a soap and have fun with it. You can figure out anything on a soap. It’s sort of wondering what they’re going to do next to make this work.Digest: How much time off did you have on your last break?
Signor: I just shot in December, but before that I think it was about August. Digest: What did you do during that time?
Signor: I’ve been busy with my daughter [Ainsley, who turns 1 in March]. It’s been an ideal job because I can spend so much time with her. It’s been perfect because I got to spend most of her first year with her.Digest: Did you do any other acting during that time?
Signor: Normally, I would have, but I was just so busy with my baby. I usually do a lot of commercials and I’m sure I would have gotten some more of those, but this was like the perfect job because when I first got pregnant I got the show and they said I could be pregnant on the show. I thought I wouldn’t be working at all while I was pregnant, but it was really a perfect situation the way it worked out.Digest: So, this is the first time you got to work with Paul Satterfield (Spencer)?
Signor: Yeah, he’s great. It’s been a lot of fun. I was thinking he’s taking over my role as the bad guy. I was watching him like, “Wait a second [laughs]!
