Scott Bailey Exits Springfield
Soap Opera Weekly: How are things out in Los Angeles?
Scott Bailey: I’m having a good time. It’s good weather, good people. I’m pretty comfortable. I bought a car, I’m living with friends and I’ve got my family here.
Weekly: Have you seen Crystal Hunt (ex-Lizzie) since you’ve moved out there?
Bailey: Yes, Crystal is a really good friend of mine and a great person. We’ve been hanging out a lot.
Weekly: Are you auditioning for pilot season?
Bailey: Yes. It’s an interesting thing: I get to read the script and go out and have an audition every day. It’s fun. I like taking a crack at it.
Weekly: I heard you gave a great speech at the going-away party GL threw for you.
Bailey: I just said whatever I felt in my heart at the moment. I guess and I did okay. I’m going to miss those folks. Afterward, we all hung out with Tom [Pelphrey, Jonathan] and Kim [Zimmer, Reva], and we shared the love…it’s good.
Weekly: Looking back, what are your thoughts on your time at GL?
Bailey: It was a really great experience. I learned a whole lot about people acting and living in New York, and hanging out with amazing people.
Weekly: How did you feel about Sandy’s exit? He got pretty crazy toward the end.
Bailey: Some of it was hard to believe, but it was a challenge, and it was really fun to play, to let loose. I think I had probably my most fun on the show [during] the last couple of weeks.
Weekly: What will you miss most about GL?
Bailey: Small things, like Kim making fun of me or Tom’s laugh or Stephanie‘s [Gatschet, Tammy] smile.
Weekly: Is there anything you want to say to GL viewers?
Bailey: Thanks for your support. I was honored to be part of your show for three years, and I hope you enjoy the exit. I appreciate the fans. I appreciate [their] positive comments and putting up with Sandy’s antics for three years.
