Royal Wedding Won’t Knock Off ABC Soaps
ABC-TV is planning extensive coverage of Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal wedding on April 29, but it isn't expected to pre-empt regularly scheduled episodes of ALL MY CHILDREN, ONE LIFE TO LIVE and GENERAL HOSPITAL.
Diane Sawyer and Barbara Walters will anchor live coverage from Buckingham Palace from 4:00 a.m. to 10 a.m., ET. Afterward, the network will air a live West Coast edition of GOOD MORNING, AMERICA. By the time ALL MY CHILDREN begins airing at 1 p.m., Eastern time, the live play-by-play hoopla is expected to be done.
That night, ABC-TV will return to coverage of the Royal Wedding when Barbara Walters hosts a "Special Edition of 20/20" from 9:00 to 11:00 pm., Eastern time.
