Ron Raines – Top of the Pops

Comments

GUIDING LIGHT viewers have long been familiar with Ron Raines’ (Alan) impressive voice. This month, they can hear him live when he performs “Broadway Showstoppers” with the Philadelphia Pops.

“I performed with them back in the early ’90s. They’ve asked me for the past two years to perform again and I always had to pull out because I was nominated for an Emmy and The Emmy Awards happen exactly the same time as they’re doing performances,” explains Raines.

“This year, I said, ‘I’m not going to throw my name into the hat for an Emmy, so I’ll commit to you and I’ll TiVo the Emmys and watch them later,'” he smiles.

“I’m going to be singing with three other people. We’ll all be doing a lot of the big classic Broadway numbers with a few surprises,” he winks. “It’s live and anything can happen.”

Raines performs with the Philadelphia Pops at The Kimmel Center from May 18-22. For tickets, call (215) 893-1999.
