GENERAL HOSPITAL
A special Luke and Laura parade with Anthony Geary and Genie Francis kicked off the weekend.
Hopping aboard the nostalgia train, fans quizzed the pair about their first TV son, Jonathan Jackson (ex-Lucky), who originated the role in 1993 at age 11. “Jonathan’s really good,” Geary told the crowd. “I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago. He has two babies now. And a wife [laughs]! He’s very happy and has a nice film career going. I’ll tell him every one of you said hello.” Francis reflected on Lucky’s supposed passing in 1999: “For me, the most difficult scene I ever had to do was when Luke tells Laura that Lucky is gone. That’s a scene I never want to do again. It was too hard.”
Spencer kids Greg Vaughan (Lucky) and Julie Marie Berman (Lulu) couldn’t get enough of having on-screen mom Francis back. “It was great for the few weeks,” enthused Vaughan. “We wish it could have been longer. She was such a treat. We had fun and we really hope everyone enjoyed it.” Added Berman, “After watching her and Tony work together, I see why they were such a huge part of history.” Hanging-by-a-thread-on-screen-daughter-in-law Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth) chimed in, “When I first came on the show, Genie was there and she was such a mom to me. I loved it.”
When it came to DANCING WITH THE STARS, champion Kelly Monaco (Sam) stated, “I was rooting for Joey [Lawrence] and Edyta [Sliwinska] because Edyta is my partner’s [Alec Mazo] fiancée, but [once] she was gone…. Mario’s [Lopez, ex-Christian, B&B] great. He’s been great from the very beginning and there’s no doubt that he’s a fantastic dancer, but I think what embodies the show is Emmitt [Smith]. It’s not about being technical. Everyone saw that when I won! It’s about embracing the journey and I hope that’s not lost and I don’t think it will be.”
Note to self: Monaco correctly predicted Smith’s win. Call her for Sunday football pool.
Who leaves Laura Wright
(Carly) starstruck? “That happened when I ran into Lukas [Rossi, winner] from ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA. I said, ‘What’s up?’ He was trying to go to the bathroom and I was like, ‘Oh, my God!’ and I punched him. He was like, ‘Who are you?’ “
Is there hope for GH’s divorced teens Dillon and Georgie? Scott Clifton (Dillon) teased, “I’ve never heard Dillon have a line that didn’t have something to do with Georgie, but I think there might be a triangle starting up [with Lulu]. I’m not sure.”
