Remembering Anna Lee

Comments

Though a sad occasion Lila’s funeral served as a reunion for former and current GH stars. “Today, half of it was not only to honor Anna, but to see people that I don’t get the chance to see. Lynn [Herring, ex-Lucy, PC/GH] and I never see each other anymore,” said Jon Robert Lindstrom (ex-Kevin, PC/GH), who added that he most often speaks to former co-star John J. York (Mac).

For Herring, the return to her old stomping grounds was, “A time warp, but a good one,” she smiled.

She also shared some unconventional memories of the late Lee. “People didn’t know she loved men as much as I do,” chuckled Herring. “She was quite a gal about town at times. She loved cowboys. She was always like I wanted to be as I get older — strong and graceful and elegant. Feisty. She would fight for a good story, fight for keeping her integrity, and in real life fight to keep herself very aware of what was going on.”

Wally Kurth (Ned) recalled that Lee “lived [in] Montana for eight or nine years. [I’m] looking forward to reading about that in her memoirs — proper English woman not only cooked for husband and children, but cooked for every ranch hand that walked through there. A whole other life.”
