The Young and the Restless

Reaction to Ex Soap Actor’s Oscar Win

Comments

You can color Peter Bergman (Jack, Y&R) especially happy about Melissa Leo copping the Oscar in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category for The Fighter. That's because Bergman co-starred with Leo when they briefly played siblings on AMC in 1984 (he was Cliff, she was Linda). "I was thrilled to see her win acting's ultimate prize last night," smiles Bergman, who wasn't all that surprised when Leo dropped the F bomb while on stage to pick up her trophy. "Her acceptance speech reminded me that she was quite the saucy firebrand back then, as well," Bergman chuckles. "She's a wonderful actress and truly deserved her Oscar."
