A Q&A with B&B’s Drew Tyler Bell (Thomas) and Kayla Ewell (Caitlin)

Comments

Soap Opera Digest: How’s it been going so far?
Drew Tyler Bell: Great.
Kayla Ewell: It’s really fun, especially now that we have more of a storyline together.
Bell: And it’s not just about Thomas chasing Caitlin, like it was the first three months.
Ewell: That’s right. Caitlin likes Thomas now, so it’s mutual. Yeah, they finally kissed.Digest: Have either one of you had an on-screen kiss before?
Ewell: No. This is my first kiss.
Bell: Mine, too.

Digest: Nervous?
Ewell: I was nervous. I think you were, too.
Bell: Yeah, we experienced it together. I was really nervous.
Ewell: But it was fine. I was afraid of how it was going to look, but the day after taping, people [at B&B] were saying, “Oh, my God, that was the best kiss!”
Bell: I felt bad because we did the first take and they said, “Cut. Drew, look like you enjoy it.”
Ewell: Can you believe that? I was like, “Okay, thanks.”Digest: Drew, there were a lot of teens in your last movie, Jeepers Creepers 2. No kissing scene in there for you?
Bell: Actually, there was a scene where I made out with the Creeper, but they cut it out [laughs].Digest: You didn’t kiss anyone when you were in FREAKS AND GEEKS, Kayla?
Ewell: There was this whole spin-the-bottle party scene, but there was never a kiss like we did on this show.Digest: What can you tell me about Drew that would surprise the fans?
Ewell: He hates sharks, and he’s so scared of them, he won’t go into the ocean. It’s because he’s from Ohio.
Bell: Now, that’s how rumors get started. I don’t hate sharks because I come from Ohio.
Ewell: That’s my opinion.
Bell: If I were to go surfing, there’s always a chance I’m going to get bitten by a shark.
Ewell: Drew, what I say is more juicy, so let me do this. So, he’s really afraid of sharks, and I’m going to take him surfing sometime to help him get over his phobia.
