All My Children

Pine Valley’s Summer Vacation

Comments

With soap operas filming a new show every day, the cast and crew will be the first to tell you that it’s rare they find time to vacation. However, thanks to pre-taping episodes throughout the summer, everyone at ALL MY CHILDREN got to enjoy a weeklong hiatus starting Aug. 28.

And just where did our daytime darlings go? Soap Opera Weekly caught up with your faves at the AMC fan club luncheon to get the dish.

Alicia Minshew (Kendall) had the chance to get all shook up with Elvis. (Well, sort of.) “Don’t laugh,” she grinned. “For [boyfriend] Richie’s birthday, I’m taking him to Graceland. He’s always wanted to go, so we’re going to do the whole thing. And for the rest of the time we’re just relaxing. My mom is coming to visit. We might take a day trip somewhere, but we don’t have anything big planned. We want to chill, enjoy the city and our new apartment, maybe grill on the patio.”

Minshew may have stayed East, but many AMC stars headed to the West Coast, including real-life sweethearts Justin Bruening and Alexa Havins (Jamie and Babe), as well as Terri Ivens (Simone), who planned a week of relaxation with her hubby in the Napa Valley.

“I’m going back to L.A.,” reported newbie Brent Weber
(Sean), who just relocated from sunny California. “I’m going to hang out with my friends and maybe go to Vegas. It’ll be fun.”

Yes, fun is definitely something to be desired on a vacation. Unfortunately for Alec Musser (Del), his hiatus was most likely exhausting. “I’m going out to California to train for a triathlon I’m doing in September,” he shared. “It’s not going to be the most fun, but I’ve got to get it done. It’s a little bit more difficult to train here in New York.”
While Musser worked up a sweat, the newest additions to the cast, Ambyr Childers
and Taylor Gildersleeve (Colby and Sydney) hoped to get some much-needed rest. “I’m not really doing anything exciting,” shrugged Childers. “I’m going to go home to hang out with my family and see my little sister, so that should be nice. I’m just going to relax — and eat!” Gildersleeve also made it a family affair. “My family is going to Block Island,” she smiled. “Hopefully my boyfriend will come. We’re going to take some time to relax, sit back and get some sun.”

Fellow teen Leven Rambin (Lily) stayed in the Big Apple, but for good reason: “It’s the week of the [MTV Video Music Awards],” she pointed out. “I’m going to that and all of the parties.”

The cast wasn’t only scattered across the country, but across the globe. “A college buddy of mine is going to Amsterdam with me for the first half of the hiatus, and then I’m going to visit my girlfriend in Sweden for the second half,” shared an excited Colin Egglesfield (Josh).

The beach also made for a common destination. Cady McClain headed to Mexico to enjoy her vacation, while Chrishell Stause
(Amanda) landed on St. Martin. “I’m going to the Caribbean with my man,” she winked. “Not a lot of activities planned, we’re just chilling out. We’re going to be on the beach in the sun sipping some mai tais.”

Cheers!
