Peter Reckell On The Fantasticks Return

On September 5, Peter Reckell (ex-Bo, DAYS) will return to the Off-Broadway hit, The Fantasticks, 36 years after he first appeared in the production in 1981. “I was just hanging out here in Nashville, and they said, ‘Hey, do you want to come and do this? We know you’ve done it before’ “ says Reckell of getting the call. “Kelly [Moneymaker, his wife] and I talked about it and I was like, ‘Why the heck not? The universe sort of presented it to you for some reason, so let’s do it.’ So, it’s a three-week performance and I think by the end of my life, I’ll probably do all the main roles in this show. When I started out, I did a couple of weeks as The Mute and then I did two weeks of The Boy when the kid who was doing it at the time took his vacation, and now I guess they’re just in transition again, so they’re having somebody fill in as El Gallo while they’re getting a new guy.
