PASSIONS’S Tabitha Lenox

Comments

1999
After creating living doll Timmy, Tabitha posed as a fortune teller and gave residents haunting predictions. In order to keep magical power-possessing twin sisters Faith and Grace from reuniting, the witch whipped up a storm and eventually set a house fire that killed Faith. But she found a new target in Faith’s daughter, Charity (whose unknown supernatural powers were also a threat): Tab stabbed the teen with a drug-filled hypodermic, left her on train tracks, hit her with a poker, set her ablaze during a play, rigged the town Christmas tree to electrocute her and tried to behead her at the stroke of midnight at the new year. No dice. Tabitha learned that Charity’s powers were stronger through her love for Miguel when she abruptly lost her own powers. Bah!2000
Still vowing to kill Charity, Tabitha figured that her first step was to keep her away from Miguel, so she tricked the young girl into poisoning him. Oops: Tabitha also accidentally ate the poison and melted into a puddle of water. Timmy tried to turn her from a fish (a witch doctor had done that) back into his “princess,” but instead made her a mermaid. Once herself again, Tabitha went back to work, sending Charity telepathic messages to kill Miguel, which caused an avalanche that buried Theresa, Whitney, Charity Miguel, Timmy and herself. Undaunted, Tabitha tried to catch flies with honey instead of vinegar — and gave Charity a necklace (it had evil powers). But while attempting to get Miguel’s cross off Charity’s neck, Tabitha was burned by the symbol. A now-evil Charity (the necklace, remember?) threatened to kill Tabitha unless the witch helped murder Miguel. Not liking her one bit more now that she was evil, Tabitha pushed her nemesis into a mine shaft, sending a boulder toward her to prevent Charity from escaping. Tabitha’s archrival, Hecuba, came to Harmony and Tabitha put a spell on her to keep her underground — but Kay and Miguel broke the curse. Desperate to keep Miguel and Charity from making love (after which Charity’s powers would be full-force), Tabitha and Timmy crashed through Miguel’s bedroom window before the kids did the deed. Then, near year’s end, a suddenly-prescient Tabitha read Pilar’s tea leaves and said a man from her past would resurface. She was right; Pilar’s missing husband, Martin, showed up in town — but turned out, he was an impostor.
