PASSIONS Twists Page 2
Brian Is Antonio (2002): Sheridan surviving a boat explosion was no surprise. (She did overcome being buried alive, you’ll recall.) The real blow came when the audience learned that the man who rescued her, took care of her and loved her — and went by the name Brian O’Leary — was none other than Luis’s missing older sibling, Antonio! Of all the fishes in the sea, the amnesiac Crane had fallen for her star-crossed lover’s brother.
Liz Is Eve’s Sister (2002): On St. Lisa’s Island, Liz was seen as the hard-working, kind-hearted hotel owner. But when she arrived in Harmony, we began to see the bitter, vindictive side to “Brian’s” ex. We learned, after a slap-filled reunion in the hospital, that she also has a connection in the small New England town. Liz just so happens to be the younger sister whom Eve left behind to pursue her singing career. Liz is hungering to tear Eve’s life apart, starting with her marriage.
Beth Hires An Orangutan (2003): When we met Luis’s high-school sweetheart in 1999, she was just that — sweet. But a few years later we suddenly learned that the Book Café manager has an evil — and bizarre — streak when it comes to getting what she wants. In order to keep her elderly mama, Edna, nearby, Beth hired a caretaker. Seems like the right, nice thing to do. However, the at-home helper, Precious, is an orangutan! Beth’s excuse? The trained animal was cheaper than a human nurse. And less likely to spill her secrets.
Tabitha Is Pregnant (2003): “You’re pregnant!” Two words a 300-plus-year-old witch never thinks she’ll hear. And a surprise we didn’t expect after her one-night stand with Julian (even though it was a costumed sexcapade we’ll not soon forget!). But following a spooky run-in with dancing babies, Tab discovered that she was carrying Crane’s spawn.
Alistair Is Charlie (2003): It was never very clear as to where the manly, murderous Charlie came from, or who she really was. But never did we imagine that Beth’s “special friend,” who assisted in Sheridan’s kidnapping, would turn out to be the pregnant victim’s father, Alistair … especially after he helped deliver her baby. But sure enough, after “Charlie” drove over a cliff and officials believed she went to a watery grave (along with Sheridan’s baby), “she” said good-bye to Beth (with quite a kiss) and boarded the Crane jet. It was then that Charlie ripped off a mask and revealed himself as Alistair.
