Noah told Fancy about his history with Maya, starting with how popular he was in college and how Maya had changed his life. She’d played damsel in distress to his characteristic heroism, but he’d soon found he was in over his head. Just as he started to tell Fancy what he and Maya had seen, Maya interrupted. Noah insisted she back off. Maya then admitted there was more to the story. “Trouble seems to find me wherever I go,” she whined, and Noah couldn’t deny it had followed her to Harmony. Maya revealed that the bad guys contacted her, warning them to keep quiet. “They want us all dead,” she fretted. Noah stormed back into the hospital room to tell all, but was stopped in his tracks when he saw that the rose he’d left on Fancy’s pillow had been replaced by a bullet!
Gwen and Ethan tried to work through his frustration. She remained excited about her big interview and he gifted her his briefcase, but he couldn’t shake that “emasculated” feeling. He was letting his “fragile male ego get bruised,” he admitted. Gwen wasn’t thrilled that the briefcase had Ethan’s initials, but then happily announced that she’d by her own with her first paycheck. Ethan flinched.
Pilar almost caught Martin with Katherine, but then realized it was already midnight, which meant it was their “wedding” day. After some warm words through the door, he passed her wedding shoes out to her. She asked for a kiss through the door and unknowingly left him with Katherine, who continued her campaign to get him back. He told Katherine he also loved Pilar and owed this to her, but Katherine remained convinced he was making a mistake and acting out of guilt. A frustrated Martin noted everything was Alistair’s fault and Katherine agreed, hoping he would stay in his coma. She added that she had no reason to sacrifice their love anymore, but Martin remained committed to doing the “right thing,” and asked her to go. She refused, crying that he wanted to get away because, “You don’t trust that you’ll be able to resist me.” He gruffly denied it and left her in his room.
Theresa continued with her plan to get Gwen a job, even putting together a contract for Gwen’s new employer. After a satisfying romantic fantasy of getting Ethan back, her mom returned. Pilar was suspicious when she found the contract for Collier & Co and quickly figured out Theresa was up to no good. No surprise, she was not pleased to hear Theresa’s big plan. She begged her daughter to stop trying to destroy Ethan and Gwen’s sacred vows and even compared Theresa to Katherine, but Theresa didn’t see it that way. While Katherine had stolen a man in love with five kids, “I’m trying to get back what’s rightfully mine,” she insisted. Pilar wasn’t convinced and didn’t even believe that Theresa’s plan would work. She noted that Theresa had a career, just like Gwen would, but Theresa countered that she would hand all Crane matters over to Ethan and be his stay-at-home woman. Then, she suddenly made an about face, telling Pilar that she was right and that she was going to drop her plan. She was lying, of course.
