At the Lopez-Fitzgerald home, Sheridan stood up to Alistair in front of everyone. The National Guard arrived to pick up Rachel’s coffin, but were unsure as to what to do because the graveyard was still flooded. Sheridan stalled the Child Protective Services and asked for a final few moments together with Mark before they take him away. Alistair announced he’d be going home — with a reluctant Katherine. In a surprising moment of compassion, Pilar pulled Katherine aside and expressed apologies and condolences for how Alistair has been mistreating and abusing her. Pilar said while she wouldn’t be able to forgive Katherine for what she did in running away with Martin, she at least now has some understanding for why she did what she did. Pilar also expressed her admiration for the sacrifices Katherine has made for Sheridan. The National Guard finally sealed Rachel’s coffin and removed it. Afterward, Sheridan reluctantly gave Mark to the Child Protective Services agent as Gwen comforted her.
Noah and Fancy continued their escapades in the deserted department store. They happened upon a vibrating bed, where Noah began to give Fancy a sensual back massage. Afterward they cuddled and shared quiet time on the bed. When Noah stepped away Fancy became unsettled when she read a love letter she discovered in Noah’s wallet. When Noah returned with champagne Fancy was upset and angry and, without explaining why, told Noah she just wanted to get out of the store and away from him ASAP.
Ivy crashed a close moment between Fox and Kay to rain on their parade. After sending Fox on an errand, Ivy tried to scare off Kay where Fox is concerned. Ivy told Kay that Fox could be a lot of fun but isn’t the settling-down type. Ivy’s words took hold in Kay’s mind. When Fox returned and asked to talk about the night before, Kay stonewalled him and declared that things were over between them. Fox was stunned, while Ivy watched gleefully from the sidelines. Later, Simone lent Kay an ear and a shoulder as Kay vented about her disappointment in Fox’s playboy ways.
In a candid conversation, Theresa explained to Ethan that circumstances compel her to ally herself with a powerful, though dangerous player like Alistair. Ethan insisted that she can’t trust Alistair. Ethan recalled his own experiences growing up when he thought Alistair was his grandfather, watching and observing all of the evil and despicable things Alistair has done to people. Theresa insisted that Alistair is just a means to an end, and declared that once she has her baby back in her arms Alistair will be “dead” to her.
