The wall didn’t open for her, but Whitney prayed for “God” (a.k.a. The Monk) to take Chad and Miles out of her heart, begging, “please release me from these sick feelings.” Chad arrived with Miles just in time to overhear that and questioned how love could be construed as a “sick feeling.” He told her he and Miles were there to light a candle for her, because she was lost, and then tried to get Miles to show her how he’d learned to pray. When he wouldn’t do it for Whitney, Chad insisted she come home so she doesn’t miss anything else. She played the guilt card and that set him off on a monologue about how selfish she was being. “When you’re sitting here on your knees praying to God, do you ever ask him to take away our pain?” he shot. He accused her of hiding out while he took Miles everywhere, even though people snickered about “the black Crane and his incest bastard baby.” He said Miles was beginning to pick up on being “different” and the fact that his mother “can’t stand to be with him.” (Go Chad!) A tearful and apologetic Whitney took Miles in her arms. She apologized to Chad and accepted blame for making life even harder on her two boys, but she wouldn’t agree to go “back to a life of temptation,” no matter what Chad said. She didn’t want to go against “God’s laws,” which made Chad snarl, “It’s OK with God that you dump your child to be raised alone without you?” Mother Superior interrupted and, at the behest of Whitney, asked Chad to leave. He obliged, leaving her to beg Mother Superior to give her penance. “What I think you need is to calm down,” she said. “Why don’t we both go to the kitchen and help Sister Antoinette with lunch, hmm? Spending too much time alone can make you believe in things that aren’t there.” After the door shut behind them, the Vendetta symbol appeared on the floor.

Before Sheridan could respond to Chris’ most recent interrogate about whom she wants to be with, a “lonely” Luis joined them in the living room. Doc Russell tried to send him back to bed, but he insisted being “off his feet” on the couch wasn’t any different and then asked why he heard his name. He asked what Sheridan had to tell him, but she was saved by the (door)bell when James and his nanny Mrs. Henderson arrived. James ran into Sheridan’s arms, which made Luis smile. Doc interrupted the cuddle fest and brought Sheridan back to the present. Luis assumed the big news she had for him was that James had become her surrogate son, which he understood. When he started talking about finding Marty and becoming a family, Doc Russell made him go back to bed and then had a chat with Chris. In the bedroom, Luis and Sheridan discussed Marty. He said seeing her with James broke his heart, because he knew how much she wanted a family and promised to find their son. Chris walked in just in time to see them kissing. (again) “You’re making this into a habit,” Luis quipped, before agreeing he needed some rest. Left alone, he talked to a picture of Marty and Sheridan, swearing he’d find Marty and then Sheridan wouldn’t “need that little boy James to fill that hole in your heart.” The week ended without our learning who Sheridan had chosen.

Taking care of a sick Maria proved difficult for Miguel and after Kay taught him the secret of ear thermometers, he couldn’t help but wonder if he should follow his mom’s advice and pursue his child’s mother. Kay wanted to leave their sick daughter in his care so she could get back to helping Fox at work, but it quickly became apparent Miguel needed her help. (That sure worked out well for him!) The tides turned when she told him Fox was the one who figured out how to make Maria take her medicine. Kay was relieved she now had two guys to help her with Maria. Kay went to leave again, so Miguel stalled her by asking her to show him how to use the thermometer again. Good thing, because Maria’s fever had skyrocketed. Kay called Doc Russell, who recommended they give her a “tepid” rubdown and promised to head over. “Mommy and Daddy” worked on Maria together.

A barely-clad Theresa again called newbie mechanic Ethan on avoiding a job at Crane for fear he’d give into his feelings for her. “Every man has got his price. What’s yours?” she cooed as she rubbed up against him. When she went in for a passionate kiss, she got it! Of course, Ethan then pulled away. She just pulled him back in, asking him to make love to her, but he wiggled out just before their lips met. She again offered to be his mistress, but he wouldn’t let her “lower herself.” “I am standing naked in front of you in a garage,” she countered. “I don’t think I could get much lower.” Ethan told her to move on and got back to working under the hood, but Theresa wouldn’t let up. She came up behind him and put her arms around him, asking, “Do you need a hand with that tool?” He finally tried to leave, only to find the door was locked. Flashing her coat open, Theresa challenged him to search her. She unzipped his uniform and got him to kiss her again. He lifted her, grabbed her hair and pulled her down on the car hood.
