PASSIONS Party

Comments

Fun Facts:
Who Was There? Practically the whole cast, including Galen Gering (Luis), whose character is currently off-screen, and Kathleen Noone (Edna), who was written out over the summer. (It was announced that Mrs. Wallace will be back before year’s end.)

First Timers: Emily Harper (Fancy), Dylan Fergus (Noah), Adrian Wilson (Christopher), Christopher Maleki (Spike) and Daphnee Duplaix Samuel (Valerie)
Who Was Missing: Charles Divins (Chad) was attending a personal appearance out of town. Regarding Rodney Van Johnson‘s (TC) absence, moderator Daniel Coleridge (columnist for TV Guide Online) joked that TC was at anger management class.
The Goodie Bag: A medium-size soft cooler with a plastic water bottle and beach towel. The bag included a bottle of Revlon nail polish and Garnier Fructis, SOAPnet lip-gloss and stickers, issues of Soap Opera Digest and Soap Opera Weekly, a City of Hope bracelet, a Just Call pedometer and the Summer 2005 PASSIONS Fan Club Newsletter.
The Eats: Salad, chicken marsala, grilled breast of chicken with sautéed mushrooms, baked mostaccioli pesto ziti and a variety of desserts (the chocolate chip cookies were scrumptious!)

The cast took their seats on the stage in the Mardi Gras-decorated ballroom shortly after 9 a.m. Each one introduced himself/herself and thanked the fans for attending.

Funny Moments:

*Gering made it clear that he hasn’t watched the show in awhile, and slipped about his character’s story. He said, “I haven’t watched the show recently, and that’s painfully obvious. This is embarrassing. I’m not dead? There is a funeral. That hasn’t aired yet? Well, you have something to look forward to.” The actor also pretended to hand money to the publicist when he was speaking highly of the cast.
* A baseball hat-wearing Justin Hartley (Fox) cracked up the crowd during his introduction. “Hello. I’m Jesse Metcalfe [ex-Miguel; John, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES] and I play Hank on PASSIONS. I’m just finishing my police-officer training,” he smiled.
*John Reilly (Alistair) was in awe of the viewers’ support. “The fans, the people who watch, we’re becoming a cult, aren’t we? A real cult,” he said.
* Bruce French (Father Lonigan) joked, “I thank you all for being part of our PASSIONS congregation.”
* James Hyde (Sam) stated, “I play Sam Bennett, the ex-chief of police. I just want to let you know that I’m working on the other murders and shootings undercover. [Luis is] going to find Beth, and whoever shot Julian Crane — we’re working on it.”

* Brook Kerr (Whitney) quipped, “I play Whitney Russell, or Sister Mary Whitney. I love my brother. Thank you very much.”

Pats On The Back:
*Leigh Taylor-Young (Katherine): “This has been one of the great years of my life and I just have to say that I love this cast. Thanks for coming.”
*Harper: “This is my first fan club event for PASSIONS. I feel very blessed to be here with my fellow castmates. They are an amazingly talented group of people. Thank you so much for coming out. We appreciate your support.”After introductions and a Q&A session, Tracey Ross (Eve) and Amelia Marshall (Liz) sang “Sisters,” with a twist. They changed the lyrics to go along with their storyline.

Guests then watched a highlight blooper reel and preview clips. The funniest part? In a scene with Richard Steinmetz (Martin), Eva Tamargo (Pilar) and the twins who play James, McKenzie Westmore (Sheridan) uttered the line, “It’s anyone’s guess.” And the 4-year-old Keane spontaneously replied, “Who has gas?”

The cast then took their places at long tables on either side of the room to sign autographs and pose for photos until after 1 p.m.
