Dorian felt strongly that Zane’s last name shouldn’t be Buchanan, because Kelly would be raising the baby by herself. The extended Buchanan clan — Viki, Clint, Kevin, Natalie and eventually Jessica — disagreed. Kelly wasn’t so sure. Clint blissfully announced that Spencer was not a Buchanan. Natalie wished she could call John with that news. Everyone agreed that the family needed a full day of happiness and they would finally have that at Jessica’s wedding. Dorian laid it on very thick with Clint and Viki, probably in hopes of getting an invitation to the wedding. (No go, Dorian.) Kevin and Kelly asked Dorian to leave them with her baby and to please go home…or go somewhere. Clint and Viki showed up at Capricorn with a mysterious plan. Viki wouldn’t let Jessica or Natalie leave. Clint and Cris thought they should pay Nash a visit because Nash was not doing well. Antonio thought that was odd as he’d just been there, but called him anyway. Nash didn’t hear the phone ring because he was hammering away his frustrations.
Antonio and Jessica reviewed the last-minute wedding details while Claudia lurked from a bar stool. Nash joined the table with news that he’d made arrangements for all the tuxedos to be dropped off. (What a nice, thoughtful guy that Nash is.) Antonio had a private word with Cris, while Nash sat with Jessica. Nash wondered if he was making her uncomfortable. He had been thinking about Tess all night and wanted to tell Jessica that he wanted her to be happy, and he knew that Tess would want her to be happy too. Antonio assured Cris that he wasn’t nervous. Cris wondered if Nash might lose it at the wedding. Antonio insisted on no bachelor party and then visited Nash and helped him out with his carpenter project. Antonio heard he borrowed money from Vincent Jones and wanted to buy out the loan. Nash said okay, as Antonio explained he didn’t want Bree’s father dealing with a lowlife.
Rex burst into Todd’s office but was stopped by his assistant. Rex said he was close to finding Todd’s son. Rex made himself at home at Todd’s desk but soon found out that the one lead he had to possibly finding Todd’s son was dead. Todd and Blair arrived and heard the news. Todd was so upset he cleared his desk in one fell swoop. Todd shared his frustration with Blair.
Spencer licked his “I’m-not-a-Buchanan” wounds in jail while David, safely on the free side of the bars, made annoying remarks. Spencer couldn’t get the attention of the guard so David remained. Spencer assured David that he didn’t want the Buchanan money; he just wanted to get back at Asa. David wondered why their mother had lied to them. Spencer recounted the story of how Emma had begged him to destroy Asa. Spencer and David reviewed the different takes they had on their mother and their individual relationships with her. Despite that fact that Spencer was not a Buchanan, he remained determined to destroy Asa. David wondered how that could happen, as Spencer was behind bars. Spencer replied that perhaps David didn’t know him all that well after all.
An annoyed Evangeline told Todd that he “just fixed it” so Spencer could beat his charges and go free. Evangeline reminded them that many people read Todd’s newspaper and its detailed coverage of Spencer’s arrest may make it impossible to find an impartial jury. Todd didn’t think that would happen and was sure that Evangeline would be able to keep the trial in Llanview. Todd left but Blair stayed behind. She had a few words for Evangeline. Though Evangeline insisted that Todd just flirts with her to make Blair uncomfortable, Blair added that it’s clear to her that Todd does it because he knows it will get to Vange, as well.
