Evangeline, Kevin and Kelly met Todd at the courthouse for his arraignment. Kevin antagonized Todd as he was frog-marched into the courtroom. Evangeline took Kevin aside and asked him to not interfere. While they were talking, Kelly approached Todd and expressed her disgust and disappointment in him for killing his unborn child. She went a little overboard when she grabbed him and started screaming that he’s a murderer and a rapist. Blair arrived at the courtroom with Spencer and told Kelly to stop freaking out. Blair threw a jab at Kelly by saying that she’s just upset because she can never have a baby of her own. Spencer stepped in and told everyone to calm down so the justice system can run its course. When the proceedings got underway, the judge ruled that bail would be denied. After the court was dismissed, Blair remained frosty with Kelly, despite Kelly’s attempt to mend fences.
Michael and Natalie met at John’s place and both wondered where he was. Natalie said she was supposed to have dinner with John and that he never left a message to cancel. When she said she’d been feeling kind of down lately, Michael invited her to the diner with him. Before they left, Roxy dropped by, so Michael said he’d step out and bring food back for them. When alone, Roxy insinuated that Michael has the hots for Nat, but Natalie said he is just a friend, “and not even a very good one.” Michael came back with the grub, and Roxy left. Natalie turned around and asked Michael if he was hitting on her. Michael told her that while he may have been slightly interested in her back last spring, that he definitely isn’t now. “The truth is,” he admitted, “I’m still in love with Marcie.” Natalie told Michael to give Marcie some time. Then she said that she’d been sensing that John had something he needed to tell her. She seemed to convince herself that that was a good thing.
Everyone at the prison counted down the minutes to 7 p.m. when the breakout was scheduled to begin. Hayes knocked out a guard in one of the prison stairwells and took his rifle. He crawled through the ventilation shaft until he reached the warden’s office.
John talked to the warden in his office and asked if they could put a wire on Cristian. The warden was reluctant but allowed it, assuming Cris approved. Just as a guard went to fetch Cris and bring him to the warden, Haskell cut the power in the prison, and the surprised guard left Cristian locked in his cell. John told the warden that he’d checked his gun and cell phone at the prison entrance. Meanwhile, prisoners started to riot while Carlo locked his sights on Cristian, who was still stuck in his cell. The warden grabbed a huge pistol out of a drawer, and he and John walked out into the prison. After just a few steps, Hayes shot the warden.
