Viki told reporters outside Llanfair that there was no comment on Duke’s death and asked them to please respect the family’s privacy. Inside, Viki tried to comfort Kevin, who was upset after looking through some of Duke’s keepsakes. Kevin recalled how Duke apologized to him when he died, “thinking I hated him. I didn’t say I loved him back.” Viki urged Kevin to stop blaming himself and said Spencer was wrong to have made him choose between Kelly and Duke. Kevin refused to let himself off the hook.

Tess told Nash she feels bad for the Buchanans and remembered that Duke was nice to her. She said that Jessica would know how to help her family but that she doesn’t know how. Nash said he had an idea. They went and grabbed Brennan and gave her to Kevin to hold. Kevin seemed to enjoy it. He told Tess to treasure her daughter, and then said it was time to go bury Duke. They all left for the church.

Blair visited Kelly in the hospital. She told her cousin how on top of dealing with Todd’s execution that Starr was arrested and Jack is having nightmares. Kelly said that Duke never would’ve died if she hadn’t had sex with him. Blair told Kelly that news about her and Duke has spread across town. Kelly then started sobbing and told Blair she wishes she had died instead of Duke. “It should have been me,” she cried.

Spencer told Blair he feels for her, given all she’s going through. When Blair responded that Spencer is also going through a lot, he snapped at her, “What the hell is that supposed to mean?” Blair was taken aback, but Spencer composed himself quickly and apologized, saying he’s just sleep deprived and a little on edge. Blair said she understands and added that she is, too, with Todd about to be executed. She hinted at doubts about Todd’s guilt, and Spencer quickly shot them down.

Clint and Bo went to the hospital to see Asa (off-screen) but came out of his room saying that they just couldn’t break the news about Duke to him. Bo said he thinks it’s best to keep it from Asa for the time being, until he’s stronger. They went back to Llanfair and told Viki they couldn’t break it to Asa but that they posted a cop at his door so the press wouldn’t get to him.

Evangeline sat with Todd and lamented not having her sight because it will make it harder for her to help exonerate him. They went through the events of the night when Todd met Margaret at the lake, trying to figure out how Spencer fit in. Evangeline remembered how Spencer was the one who signed off on Margaret’s autopsy report as a second opinion. They both wondered if perhaps Spencer paid someone to make sure the first opinion was wrong. Vangie said she was going to go have the bodies exhumed so she could find whatever Spencer tried to cover up. After Blair left, Andrew Carpenter showed up. “I’m here so save your soul, Todd,” he said.

John bashed the door open to Margaret’s place and jumped on David. He told David he knows the whole story and included that he thinks Spencer covered the whole thing up. David said it’s true, but John punched him in the gut. Then he pulled out his pistol and pointed it at David’s head. David told John he had no idea the man he shot was his father and begged John not to shoot him. “If you kill me, you’ll never learn the truth,” David said — just as John pulled the trigger. He then walked around David to a dead Denton, who he shot just before he put a bullet in David. He asked David why Denton was going to shoot him. David said he won’t talk without a lawyer, when John pulled his gun on David again, David said that Spencer sent Denton to kill him because he learned that Todd is innocent.

Natalie showed a photo of David to a Thai man and asked if he’d seen him. The guy got nervous and apologized for not being able to help, and then walked away. Meanwhile, Margaret escaped her apartment out the window into the stormy night. She showed up at the hotel with her hair sopping wet. Natalie recognized her.
