In the hospital, Rex woke up to a concerned Adriana, who told him that she found him passed out in an alley with a syringe — and she knows who set him up. Cut to Dorian at the Palace, on the phone making sure that the framing couldn’t be traced back to her. Kelly showed up; Dorian kvetched about how Adriana would be better off with Duke, who has announced that he’s in love with someone else. That got a skittish Kelly asking questions, claiming she doesn’t want to see him get his heart broken again. Kevin soon arrived in a foul mood, demanding a drink. He then snapped at Kelly to tell Dorian why he’s planning to have a chat with Spencer. Meanwhile, Adriana blamed her agent Giovanni for making Rex look like a smackhead. Realizing that she missed her big benefit to watch over him, Rex sweetly worried that as her junkie boyfriend, he had single-handedly destroyed her modeling career, then lied that the drugs were his. Moments later, the doc came in and ratted him out as a first time heroin user, but Rex still worried that something from his shady past will mess things up for Adriana. She doesn’t want him to keep pushing her away out of “some sense of warped nobility” and furthermore, she’s gonna find out who did this and make them pay. He secretly wondered whether that person might be her own mother.

Michael was late for the wedding menu tasting with Marcie; worse yet, he’s gonna have to miss meeting with the wedding band, which is only available on this day and never ever again, because of his obligation to attend the Scarborough Prize ceremony. This sent her into a bridezilla tizzy, since he seems to be more worried about showing up for his boss’s little award than their nuptials. As the tasting progressed, his frustrating indecisiveness nearly killed both Renee and Marcie, who seemed mostly upset about how she’s without any relatives girly enough to help with the planning. Michael fairly deftly soothed her growing panic with declarations of love, and soon they were so giddy about their impending ever-after that they noted the tension between old marrieds Kevin and Kelly at the next table … which only made Marcie start fretting about the future again, so they ended up right back where they started.

Natalie lunched with Roxy, who wanted to know whether she should put her money on John or Cristian for the redhead. Nat insisted that neither is a current romantic option and besides, all they care about is Evangeline anyway. Roxy thinks she’s not only jealous but lying to herself about what she really wants, so Natalie obligingly compared and contrasted the two guys, saying she couldn’t possibly choose. Roxy gets it: she broke it down to a lobster versus steak argument, and warned her to pick one soon, or they’d both be off the menu.

Hugh insisted to John that he can’t turn a blind eye to the law just because Evangeline’s a friend. Natalie eavesdropped as Hugh called John on his feelings for Vangie, then Cristian showed up to join in the chorus for getting their favorite lawyer released. But there’s not much John can do without his badge. That’s when Dr. Crosby magically arrived with news that John’s reinstatement is in his hands. Time for an impromptu therapy session: John was forced to discuss his father, leading to flashbacks of a shaky camera following lil’ John trailing after his dad’s stretcher in an ER. He finally admitted that he was to blame because he “never did anything about” his dad’s death.

Blair sauntered into the jail to confront Evangeline in an awesome little battle of wits. “I hear you’ve been hidin’ Todd — where is he?” she asked. Why, he was outside of Spencer’s office looking like he had scrubbed in for surgery. Instead, he snuck in to snoop through Spence’s things while talking to himself. The “Patients N-Z” file provided some shocking intel. Meanwhile, Hugh was confident in his decision to let Blair visit Evangeline, since it’s his belief that Vangie will assume that Blair is a Todd sympathizer. Hugh apparently hasn’t been around town long enough to learn that Evangeline’s actually smart enough to realize that Blair’s not exactly the No. 1 Todd Fan these days. Although not smart enough to inadvertently admit to Blair that she’s spoken to Todd since he escaped. Blair looked like she might tattle to Hugh, but changed her mind. When Evangeline thanked her for her discretion, Blair noted, “I know what it’s like to be a fool for Todd.” She then urged her to run in the other direction if she sees the fugitive again. “Because caring about Todd Manning is a no-win situation.” Vangie was then sprung, and Cris was there with a friendly hug; she said that thinking of him in Statesville helped her get through her night in lock-up. She’d just said her good-byes when she got a call from Todd (who was still in Spencer’s office) about the info he found. Little did he know that Spencer and Blair were outside. Truman offered to write up a prescription that Blair was picking up for Jack, because they’re still friends and all. He started to open the door as Todd peered nervously out from behind his desk.
