Adriana tended to Rex’s cuts, and learned Cristian was behind his injury. Rex explained that they had been boxing. Adriana took Rex to the hospital for stitches. Cris stayed at the gym. Evangeline came by (the gym!) and they talked about art and love. “Art is something you can create, love isn’t,” Evangeline said, and reminded him that he survived a lot and if he survived prison, he could paint a picture. Evangeline reminded him he could paint even though he had a broken heart. Cris connected all his artist abilities to his love for and life with Natalie. “Natalie didn’t make you anything,” Evangeline said firmly. Evangeline urged Cris to take all the heartbreak pain (hers and his) and paint with it.

Antonio informed Nash that once the paternity results were in, Nash would be history. Nash wondered aloud what would happen if Jessica never returned.

Tess’ doctor said it would be a couple of weeks before paternity information would be made available. The prospective fathers came in but Tess wanted little to do with them. Nash stared at the monitor of the baby.

John comforted Evangeline and, wouldn’t you know, Natalie walked in on that. Nat’s jaw dropped. Natalie made her presence known. Evangeline left and Natalie asked John, “What did I ever see in you?” “To tell you the truth, I don’t know what you ever saw in me either,” he replied. John reminded her that this — her anger — was about Evangeline. He, however, was just being a friend to Evangeline. Natalie asked him how he could be friends with Evangeline, who destroyed Viki on the stand. Natalie demanded he take sides. He refused. “What the hell do you want from me? We’re done talking,” he said. Natalie called John on shutting her down. John said Natalie should get over thinking the entire town was out to get her. The arguing continued. Natalie accused him of being with her to rescue her. John said that wasn’t true. “Our whole relationship has been based on lies,” Natalie said. She was about to leave when John grabbed her. “I lied to you about Cris, but what I felt, that was no lie.” Natalie almost started to cry, “I don’t feel it anymore,” she said as she left his office.

Marcie bumped into Michael (literally) when she was heading over to visit Nora. Michael practically drowned her in compliments and tried to ask her out. They were interrupted by Adriana and Rex who insisted that Michael stitch Rex up. He agreed to do that. Adriana and Marcie giggled as Michael did the stitching. Michael and Marcie headed out, blissfully happy. Over lunch, Michael told Marcie he still loved her. Michael then got all flustered and the two held hands and smiled.

Adriana and Rex came very close to kissing, but didn’t. Adriana said that what happened in the car on New Year’s meant something to her. “I felt more with you than with anyone else before.” Rex smiled. The two parted. Adriana flashbacked to their time in the car. Rex imagined kissing Adriana.

Clint and Viki continued their discussion of Nash versus Antonio. Antonio brought Tess home or “back to jail,” as she said. Nash arrived moments later to tell Tess everything that happened with Claudia Reston. Viki wanted him to leave, but Clint wanted to give him a chance to talk. Nash asked Tess to forgive him. Tess told him to start from the beginning and “don’t even think about leaving anything out.” Antonio didn’t want Nash to say anything. “We know all there is.” But Nash began telling his story. Nash met Claudia when he was out clubbing on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She had lots of money. They only dated for six months. She was a spoiled brat. He admitted taking her for a long and expensive ride. “I had no idea the pain it would actually cause her.” Nash didn’t hit her. “It was worse, however. I thought I could get Claudia’s money. I was young. I was too stupid. I wasn’t thinking of Claudia.” Viki thought what Nash did was “reprehensible.” Nash vowed that he was a different person then. He hadn’t learned was love was. Claudia did love him but he didn’t realize it until it was too late. “I kept asking her for money and she kept giving it to me.” Claudia’s father cut off the money supply. Nash took off. Claudia took a bottle of pills and tried to kill herself. She had a breakdown, was heavily medicated and then became addicted. Her father sent her to rehab where she still is today. “Yes,” Nash said to Antonio. “I ruined her life.” Nash confirmed that her family were the guys who had beaten him up. Nash swore he wasn’t doing the same thing to Tess. “The universe was giving me a second chance,” Nash said referring to when he met Tess. In front of Clint, Viki, and Antonio, Nash said “I love you” to Tess. Tess fell into his arms. “I’m sorry,” she said. Viki, Clint and Antonio left the living room.
