Nice to Meet You: Christopher Gerse (Will, DAYS) Page 2

Comments

Weekly: Do you ever feel sorry for Will for having such lousy parents?
Gerse: No, but I do feel bad for him living through this serial killer thing. He’s losing all his relatives.Weekly: Is memorizing your lines hard for you?
Gerse: No. I’m so happy when I get my scripts. I run straight to them and start reading. I spend a lot of time at home with my mom practicing my lines. She helps me memorize them.Weekly: What has been your favorite DAYS moment, so far?
Gerse: It was the episode right before Halloween, when Will’s parents came to his school. They had a big food fight. All the kids [on set that day] were like, “Ah, man. We don’t get to be in the food fight?” But it was still funny watching them have the fight.Weekly: Who’s the biggest kid on the DAYS set, the person you relate to the best?
Gerse: Probably Bryan. When we’re on the set, he makes these jokes and does voices. He’s really funny. I crack up. One of the hardest things is trying to keep a straight face, after he’s cracked one of his jokes.Weekly: Is it fun working with Alison and Bryan?
Gerse: I love doing scenes with them. Usually, Alison or Bryan will call me on my phone, and we’ll go to one of their rooms and rehearse our scenes over and over until we get them right. It’s easy, because Alison and Bryan are both so good. Bryan is fun to work with, and Alison is so nice. She helps me out and gives me pointers on acting. She comes from the heart in every one of her scenes. I definitely learn a lot from the two of them.Weekly: Since you play their son, do they treat you special and give you presents, now and then?
Gerse: Bryan brought his Game Boy to the set one day and offered to let me play it. He noticed that I was loving it. So he and Alison gave me one. I was so happy because it was my first Game Boy. They gave me two games, too: The Hulk and Super Mario Party 4.Weekly: You make a lot of money for a 12-year-old. What do you spend it on?
Gerse: My mom makes a deal with me. For every episode I do, she lets me take $25 out of my account. I can either save it up for something big or I can buy something small. I’ve bought a couple of toys. Right now, I’m saving up for a laptop.
