New Venture For Y&R Alum
Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla, Y&R) has registered with the fundraising website Kickstarter.com to raise money that will enable her to turn her best-selling novel, The Rich And The Ruthless (a potboiler about the behind-the-scenes drama within a fictional soap opera) into a prime-time series. Anyone can contribute on line and the goal is to help come up with the $50,000 budget needed to produce the pilot that can then be shopped around. "The most amazing thing is that we have a really strong script, garnered the interest of top tier actors, and we’re ready to go," explains Rowell. "We need the help of the public. My director and I took a network meeting this week and I have to say we’re very excited that this is going to get done. We’re going to shoot the pilot in Los Angeles and I’m really excited about it, but we’re down to the last bit, and we’re hoping for a couple of Hail Mary passes to make this happen."
