In Memoriam: Benjamin Hendrickson Page 8
I have watched the trails and tribulations of the characters of Oakdale for over 20 years especially those of Hal (Benjamin Hendrickson) and Barbara (Colleen Zenk Pinter). Their portrayals of these characters, through the years, showed the toll that life can take on our human frailties, not just as characters but for real. My heart goes out to Benjamin’s family and friends as well as the whole production team at As The World Turns. He will be missed on this earth even though he is cradled in God’s arms now.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Benjamin Hendrickson over the holiday weekend. His talents were many and his character will NEVER be forgotten. It would be nice if the show could be used to re-live the man as well as the character. It is a great testament to him how he took a day player roleand turned him into someone who was human, real and a character we care about as well as the man. Alot of people may focus on the way he died….As a lifetime fan of your show who has enjoyed the way you have embraced your 50 years of history, I know as well as all the other great fans do that you will celebrate the way he LIVED and make us a show that we can save forever to celebrate his great life!!!!
Thank You. My family and I wish you, and his family ourdeepcondolences

The soap world has lost a treasure in Mr. Hendrickson, I have been a fan
of his from the moment he became part of the ATWT team. He is and will
always be Hal Munson and there is no replacing him. I send my deepest
condolences to his family, friends and ATWT family. I feel such lost from this tragic event and I know the ones closest to him feel even worse. I didn’t know Benjamin but I felt like I did after watching his portrayal of Hal Munson for 20 years. God speed to everyone.

I am very saddened by the news of Benjamin’s death. I had a family member who also committed suicide and offer my heartfelt condolences to his castmates and friends. He was a much loved actor and I’m hoping that the producers of ATWT will retire the character of Hal Munson with him. I think it would be too difficult for all involved if Randolph Mantooth were asked to come back and step in. Again my sincerest condolences.

Hal was my favorite person on As The World Turns. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his death especially the way it happened. He will truly be missed. I hope theywill not try replace him with someone who can’t do justice to the roel of Hal Munson. They have tried to do that before and it wasn’t the same.

I was filled with great sadness when I learned of the passing of Benjamin
(Hal). I hope that he has now found peace. My sympathies go out to his
family and friends, and, of course, to his “family” at “As the World Turns”. I have watched this show for many years and there truly is no replacement for Benjamin as Hal Munson. God bless you , Benjamin, you will be missed!
