In Memoriam: Benjamin Hendrickson Page 7

Comments

As a loyal fan of As The World Turns for over 30 years, I am saddened at the sudden passing of Benjamin Hendrickson. I could not believe it when I heard the story on the TV, and have read the many articles on Mr. Hendrickson, it just seems like a bad nightmare.

Mr. Hendrickson, is beloved by all who watched the show on a daily basis, he will be sorely missed. I looked forward to seeing our beloved Hal Munson every day.

My heart, and prayers go out to his family, the whole entire cast, and crew at As The World Turns,
it won’t be same not seeing him anymore. My thoughts are will all in New York.

A very very loyal fan, words can’t express how saddened I feel.

With thoughts and prayers,
Karen from California

I am very sadden to hear the loss of Benjamin. He was a wonderful actor and no one will be able to fill his shoes. They tried before and didn’t work out. I feel so bad that he was so sad and my heart goes out to his family.

I am so sorry to hear the loss of this great man. He was a wonderful actor. May god be with his real life and soap family.

Thanks

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Benjamin’s family members. It is a very difficult time and will be for awhile. Though, it doesn’t seem so now, time will help heal. May he go rest high on that mountain.

Deepest regrets

I would like to express my sympathies to Mr. Hendrickson’s family. I was, as I’m sure were many to hear of his sudden passing. I can’t believe he will not be a regular face in my home as Hal Munson.

I do not know him. I only have his character to go by but to lose anyone to soon is sad and his on screen presence will be greatly missed.

My sympathies also to his friends and cast members at ATWT. 21 years is a long time to work together and you become close with each other and this will be a most difficult time for you as well.

My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends and for Mr. Hendrickson as well.

Sincerely,
Another longtime fan,
Heidi Oller

I am deeply saddened to hear the news of Benjamin Hendrickson’s death. I have been watching him as Hal on As The World Turns for his 21 years on the show. Many times I commented he was one of the best actors on the show and part of the core foundation of the show. The show nor the character of Hal was not the same the year he was replaced due to contract disputes. It was such great news when he returned. I know this must be really difficult for his friends and family, to include his family at ATWT. It was really rough watching the scenes with Jennifer dying this past week, mostly due to performances by the best actors in daytime and television. But hearing this real life news puts all that in perspective. I am very sad that Benjamin Hendrickson was not able to deal with his depression and sadness, but know that he is in God’s hands now. We can make something good come of a tragedy like this by helping friends and family with depression to get the help they need.

One more thought, back in 2001 at the ATWT fan luncheon in NYC, when Benjamin Hendrickson came out on stage, the little boy who played Parker Munson at the time (who had already came out on stage) immediately ran to Benjamin Hendrickson who picked him up, hugged and held him. It was obvious Benjamin Hendrickson was loved by this young actor.

Sincerely,
Scott in Oklahoma
