Just wondering if he had any idea how many people loved him and will miss him I was so happy when he came the last time. Without looking for him on the show ATWT just won’t seem the the same. Especially after letting Jennifer die off the show too. Hal may you rest in peace and will always remember you as Oakdales Cheif of Police…No one can take your place..

I’ve been a loyal fan for over 20 years and have grown to love the characters as if they were real friends in life. After watching the scenes with Jennifer and her death I find it heartbreaking to then find out that Benjamin Hendrickson died in real life. He seemed like a wonderful man and I will miss his gentle soul.

To the friends and colleagues of the late Benjamin Hendrickson, I wanted to express my sympathy to someone that has been a part of me. How can I not feel the loss of an extremely talented man, watching his performance on “As The World Turns” from start to finish?

I submit to you a poem that I have kept near me since the death of my mother, and I wanted to pass it on to you:

A Cut Finger

A cut finger
is numb before it bleeds,
it bleeds before it hurts,

it hurts until it begins to heal,

One of the marks of a great actor is the effortlessness and ease in his style of acting. That was Benjamin Hendrickson, from start to finish. No one can replace him, nor should they. My deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends and everyone at ATWT. God Bless, and Godspeed.

I have been crying my eyes out since I heard the news…and I am not the sort of person to get upset about someone I don’t know! It’s just so terribly tragic and sad, and such a tremendous loss of talent. I know he had been ill for some time, and I truly hope that Mr. Hendrickson has now found the peace he so desperately sought.

I am a long time fan of ATWT.I am heart broken that he took his own life. He was such a strong character on his show.

I’ve watched Benjamin Hendrickson for many years on As the World Turns. I’ve always admired his work. He brought honesty, integrity and emotion to his portrayal.
