In Memoriam: Benjamin Hendrickson Page 28

Comments

As a fan of ATWT’s since the 70’s, I am absolutely devastated to learn of Benjamin Hendrickson’s death. My heart is broken that he some how could not see or find the value of his life, and how much love and admiration there was for him out here in by his fans. I loved the passion and vulnerability he brought to the character of Hal. I wished I had a friend like him. I can’t image the pain and shock this must bring to his fellow cast mates and crew, who came to know and love him as family. It is a great, great loss. I will never forget Hal and Benjamin, it is a very sad time.

I would like to give my condolences. Benjamin
Hendrikson was one of the greatest of his genre. He’ll
be greatly missed.

I was very saddened to hear of Benjamin Hendrickson’s death. Death is always sad but, to hear the circumstances of the way he died was devastating to me and I’m sure to many fans as well as a complete shock to his fellow workers. He wasn’t the most handsome man but, he was an incredible actor and even when one of my favorite actors from the 70’s(Randolph Mantooth)took over for him for a while, I still missed seeing him. He was, afterall, DETECTIVE HAL MUNSON. He will be sorely missed for a long time to come. GOD BLESSS YOU BENJAMIN HENDRICKSON!

To the family and friends along with the cast of “As the World Turns,” I send my condolences on the passing of a true gentleman, Mr. Benjamin Hendrickson, better known to the TV audience, as Hal Munson.

It was a sad reminder that we have lives to deal with, behind the facade of those that we show to each other. Whatever the reason, his demons are now at peace and so is he. Rest, my weary soldier for we shall remember you with love and admiration. Your presence made us happy and as you sleep, you leave behind a group of us who will be comforted having had the opportunity to have a person like you in their lives, even briefly.

Sleep well and be comforted by those who love you.

I have been writing the ATWT recap for the past four years on a different web site. What joy it brought to me everytime Ben played Hal on screen. There will never be another Oakdale police chief the way he was and I am honor that I got to write about him every time he was on. He will be sadly missed and his family will be in my prayers. Even though this is such a trajedy and my heart is breaking his memory will live on in our hearts forever. I will miss you and I am glad I became the fan of the show for the past 10 years and got to write your scenes in my recaps for the past 4 yrs. May you finally find the peace that you were looking for the whole time.

I was very sorry and surprised to hear of the passing of Benjamin. I have watched ATWT for many years and always enjoyed him — although for the last several months he did not look well. I will be waiting to hear any updates you may have that caused him to make such a drastic and tragic step.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
