In Memoriam: Benjamin Hendrickson Page 24

What a shock to the daytime community that we’ve lost someone so very special.I was so happy for Benjamin Hendrickson when he took home the Emmy for Supporting Actor in 2003.He was a joy to watch and his final scenes with Jennifer Ferrin as he was “losing” his daughter, were absolutely beautiful.Daytime has lost a gem, and fans have lost a beloved member of their Oakdale family.

Sincerely,

My name is Hlne. I live in Laval, Qubec, Canada and I’m french speaking. I’ve been watching As the world turns since 1979 and back then I was about 17 years old!

I really am sorry about your lose: for all of you who shared & workedwith Benjamin Hendrickson on a daily basis, as much for his family, relatives & friends.

About 6 years ago, my husband also commited suicide andmy heart really goes to all of you.
May you find the strength to go forward and to give you time to heal from this very tough time.

To all of you who are part of my days by playing in that soap and to all his family, I’m offering youmy most sincere condoleances.

**Rest in peace**

Sincerely
Hlne Vaillancourt

I was sadened by the passing of benjamin Hendrickson (Hal of ATWT). I enjoyed watching him on the soap every day since he started in 1985. I will miss his superb acting he did not act he was Hal Munsen of Oakdale PD. He will be missed…

I was shocked to hear of Hal’s death. I truly missed him the time that he was gone from the show and so very happy for his return. My condolence’s go out to his family. I too lost a son @ the age of 41 to suicide so I know exacly how they feel, I am still searching and wondering why?? And when I watched the end of the show today and saw in memory of I immediately thought he had been ill because of his appearance when he returned to the show. But after reading the story and many messages from fans online in the Soap Opera Digest.com, I felt I had to say something. The soap opera stars are like family and when something happens to one of them you feel as if it is a great loss to you also. My prayers are with youBenjamin and to all ofyour family, all of the people that knew you well and your soap opera family

Rest in Peace

I was so deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the passing ofBENJAMIN HENDRICKSON. He was a truly gifted actor and made his portrayal of Hal Munson seem so easy and natural. In my opinion as a loyal “As The World Turns” fan for more than 30+ years, Benjamin’s portrayal of Hal can never be replicated.I hope that the powers that be at ATWT honor his memory respectfully. May God bless him andhis family and friends.

With deepest sorrow,

I still can’t believe he’s gone. I starting watching ATWT after Another World went off the air. I wish I would have started watching ATWT earlier! I love Hal Munson and Benjamin played him perfectly. Hal never took any crap off of anybody which was always a hoot. I watched what was Benjamin’s last taping of ATWT, today, and at the end of the show they showed his picture and the words “In Loving Memory…”. I cried. We can’t imagine what pain or depression or both he was going through to feel taking his own life was his peace. I feel for his friends, coworkers, and especially his family. He will sorely be missed as a handsome Detective and a loving father. Goodbye, Benjamin.
