In Memoriam: Benjamin Hendrickson Page 18

Comments

The sad passing of Benjamin Hendrickson is a loss his fans will feel for a very long time. He was a very touching actor and was loved by all. There can never be anyone to replace him.

Sad in Missouri

I just want to convey my condolences and sympathies to Mr. Hendrickson’s
family and friends. My heart goes out to him and his loved ones. Today’s
show was wonderful and so sad at the same time. I really liked the picture
of Mr. Hendrickson at the end of the show. He just shined.

I was shocked at the recent news of Benjamin Hendrickson’s passing.
He did such a great job playing the role of Hal Munson on ATWT, & I will miss him
so much!

As long as there is life there is hope. I guess he lost all hope. How unfortunate for Ben. May the troubles that haunted him pass and the peace he was looking for
be found. Rest in peace dear Ben. You will always be remembered.

I am very sorry for the passing of Benjamin Hendrickson. I will miss watching him everyday on ATWT. ATWT will not be the same. I hope the peace that Benjamin was missing in life he will find it with God now.

This really stunned me,when I read of Benjamin’s passing…..As Det. Hal Munson, He was an awesome actor…As I have watched ATWT for many years….We are going to miss him on TV…As what he was doing on the show, (seemed to) become a part of our lives, also….The show will not be the same without our Dear Detective….Benjamin,We will miss you….Rest In Piece…..

It has been terribly sad to watch ATWT since I read the news of Mr. Hendrickson’s death in the newsletter-particularly in view of his last storyline. I wish he could have taken comfort from his own lines as he was memorizing them and applied them to whatever his situation was in-but pain is pain and sometimes seems too much for any relief I suppose. Ironically, he always reminded me of John Spencer who played Leo McGary on The West Wing and also died this past season. they both played the part of moral compass on their shows and both left us unexpectedly and too soon. May Mr. Hendrickson find peace. I extend condolences to both the cast of the show and his family who must be devastated.

It’s hard to believe that this actually happened. What an amazing actor and
such an integral part of the show. I’m going to miss him and the character
of Hal. I started watching ATWT in ’85 and have enjoyed watching Benjamin
and Hal grow and change throughout the years. He’s one of those soap actors
that has “just add water” insta-chemistry. I saw it with Hillary B. Smith,
then with Ellen Dolan and all along with Colleen Zenk Pinter, Maura West,
Kelley Menighan Hensley and with Scott Holmes and Michael Park.

It’s been extremely eerie watching the episodes that have aired since his
death, especially hearing some of the words that Hal has spoken about
Jennifer’s death. I can only imagine what his family and cast mates must be
going through. I don’t think ATWT should recast, I think they should have
Hal die a hero and give him a grand send off. The fans and his cast mates
deserve that closesure.
