In Memoriam: Benjamin Hendrickson Page 14

I am very sad to hear the news about Ben Hendrickson. He was such a terrific actor. I will miss him a lot. The part of Hal just is not the same when he is not there. And now knowing he will never come back, no one else will do the part justice. My thoughts are with the family and friends.

I am so sorry about this. My mother called me Fri. night with the news, she’d seen a crawl on something she was watching. I had no idea, I was speechless. I couldn’t eat my supper, it was like trying to eat rocks. I went to my bathroom, closed the door & cried like I haven’t in a long time. My poor husband didn’t know what to think. I could not sleep that night or the next or next. I keep asking why which we always do in a suicide but the main thing that hurts is that he was in enough pain to do this. I am not mad at him for doing it I am just sick that he hurt so bad. I am making & keeping a tape of his last episodes of the show, he was brilliant during Jen’s (unnecessary) death, when he & Barbara were making up then when he fell into Margo’s arms, all so damned sad but even more so knowing he is really gone. I am just heartbroken. I wish the show would just send Hal off to Chicago or Washington, D.C. & have him call home once in a while. Don’t kill him off & don’t recast. Please.

I am so sad to hear about the passing of Mr. Benjamin Hendrickson. My heart goes out to his family and co-stars. Please do not try to replace him because Mr. Hendrickson was one of a kind. His work will be sadly missed. Perhaps the producers can write his leaving by saying that he was so hurt by his co-star Jen’s death that he left and later died of a broken heart. Thanks Mr. Hendrickson for giving us fans the best acting on any stage, sets, movies etc. We will always remember you!

I am shocked and saddened by the passing of Benjamin Hendrickson. I am a long time viewer of ATWT. I remember Mr. Hendrickson in the roll of Sylas Crocker on Guiding Light also.

He was a very talented and compassionate actor who will be sorely missed by many.

My thoughts and prayers to family and his colleagues.

I was very shocked to learn the Death of a great Actor on ATWT. I have always been a fan of the show, I often wondered what kind of trouble Barbara, Emily, or Carly would get into. There would be good ole Hal Munson to the rescue or in some cases arrest. I may not have known him in person, watching him on Tv I knew he had one hell of a heart. When Benjamin took a break a few years back, I did miss seeing him on Tv. But when he came back to the show I was VERY happy to see him act again. To the whole cast Family and his own Family
I’m so sorry for your lose Benjamin will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Ben, I love you, and my heart is very heavy with the news of your death. Peace forever.

I have been a fan of As The World Turns for over 25 years. I have ALWAYS loved Benjamin’s character Hal. They have tried to recast him in the past and as wonderful as the other actor was, he was not Hal. I cannot even begin to express the sadness I feel over the loss of such a talented and beloved actor. My thoughts and prayers are with his Family, friends and cast mates during this difficult time. May you rest in peace Benjamin, You will be truly missed.
