In Memoriam – B&B Producer Dies
Longtime B&B Senior Producer Ron Weaver passed away in his Los Angeles home on May 11. He was 75. Weaver joined B&B as Associate Producer in 1986 and helped launch the sudser alongside Co-Creators William J. Bell and his wife, Lee Phillip Bell. Additionally, he served as vice president of BBL Distribution, Inc., the distribution arm of Bell-Phillip Television Productions. Prior to B&B, he worked for Children’s Television Workshop (CTW), where he was part of the original production team that created SESAME STREET, THE ELECTRIC COMPANY, and 3-2-1 CONTACT, among others. "I am saddened to learn of the passing of Ron Weaver," noted Executive Producer/Head Writer Bradley Bell in a statement. "Ron was talented, a good friend to all of us, and a 26 year producer of THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL. He will be missed, will always be remembered and will forever remain in our hearts." Weaver left B&B in April of 2013. The cast and crew honored his memory with a moment of silence on the set earlier today.
