All My Children

MADE To Be a Soap Star

Comments

Who was that mean girl who gave ALL MY CHILDREN’s Colby such a hard time while she toiled away at The Comeback?

Meet Stephanie, the character who came out of a collaboration between MTV and AMC. Three best friends (Abbie, Allisha and Amanda) competed for the role on MTV’s Made, and each girl was coached by a member of the AMC cast. In the end, Amanda got to play Stephanie, and Weekly sat down with her to find out all about it.

Weekly: What has this whole experience been like for you?
Amanda: It’s really cool. I never would have expected to be here in my whole life, to actually be on national TV.

Weekly: What made you do this?
Amanda: I’ve always been interested in acting, so when I was presented with this opportunity, I took it. At first I wasn’t really into it — I was like, ‘Oh, this is hard. This isn’t what I expected at all.’ But once I found out I was going try out for a scene on ALL MY CHILDREN, I started working a lot harder.

Weekly: Who was your coach?
Amanda: [Melissa Claire Egan], Annie].

Weekly: How was she?
Amanda: She was really helpful, really laid-back and fun.

Weekly: Who was your scene with?
Amanda: It was with Colby [Ambyr Childers].

Weekly: Did you get to meet the whole AMC cast?
Amanda: I met mostly everyone, and I saw Susan Lucci [Erica] today, so that was pretty cool. I saw her and I was like, “Oh, my God!”

Weekly: Do you think you’ll try to make a career out of acting?
Amanda: If I can. I think it would be a fun career, but I’m going to college next year, so I don’t really know. If I get an opportunity that’s something big, then I’ll probably take it.
