Legendary Soap Scribe Dead At 96
Harding “Pete” Lemay, passed away on May 26 at the age of 96. One of the genre’s most highly regarded writers, Lemay won Daytime Emmy Awards for his work on ANOTHER WORLD and GUIDING LIGHT. He head-wrote AW during what is hailed as its creative heyday, from 1971-79, head-wrote GL from 1980-81, and head-wrote THE DOCTORS from 1981-81. He also served as a story consultant on AS THE WORLD TURNS, ONE LIFE TO LIVE and AW, and was the co-creator and head writer of LOVERS AND FRIENDS in 1977.
