KATE MANSI ON DAYS EXIT
In the new issue of Digest, on sale now, Kate Mansi (Abigail) opens up about why she chose to leave DAYS after five years in Salem. She also talks about her emotional final storyline, her last day, and how she tried to keep her exit under wraps. “I didn’t tell anyone. I was too scared,” she says. “I didn’t want to make it real. I don’t know why I thought this, but I thought, ‘Maybe I’ll just leave and slip out the back door and nobody will notice.’ Billy [Flynn, Chad] always seems to have his finger on the pulse of what’s going on at that place, and I was in the hair and makeup chair one day and he said something very nonchalant like, ‘When you leave…’ and I looked up at him and we nonverbally addressed that we both knew and then everybody else caught on.
