Justin Hartley: Why TheRox Rocks
As poor Theresa faces arguably her worst situation yet: the loss of her son, Little Ethan — and decides to take drastic measures in response — she at least doesn’t have to do it alone. With Fox at her side, all things are seemingly possible.Justin Hartley (Fox), offers his insights into the interesting dynamics that highlight TheRox. “It’s a really cool relationship, because she would never ask him to go along with her on something like kidnapping Little Ethan. She would never say, ‘Come with me, let me get you into trouble,’ but at the same time he’s not going to let her go at things alone. Through all the romance they’ve still remained best friends, who are growing closer from these experiences.”Hartley believes the couple’s most charming facet is that neither was looking for love. “For both characters, at first it was ‘Well I can’t have what I want, so I guess I’ll just love whatever I can get. But then Fox kept getting deeper and deeper involved. And Theresa kept getting deeper, and depending more on Fox. And Fox kept wanting to be there for her more and more. And they ended up getting into this great, deep, loving relationship, which was a lot more than either of them ever bargained for. Once they realized what was happening it was kind of shocking.”And now, they are a team in love, partners in crime, and best of friends. “It’s the very first friend he’s ever had in his entire life,” Hartley points out. “She’s the first person who’s ever been there for him every single time, who’s been able to listen to him, has not been judgmental — and hasn’t abandoned him. They just love each other so much — it works.”
