ICYMI: Digest’s Fall Preview!

36CoverWeb

It’s September, and the soaps are gearing up for some explosive storytelling. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s ahead on every show!

DAYS OF OUR LIVES

“It’s going be an exciting fall,” declares Executive Producer Ken Corday. “Big things come to those who wait. We’ve had to wait. Big things are coming.”

Prison Break: “A twist of fate allows three dangerous convicts from Salem’s past to escape prison. Orpheus, Clyde and Xander decide to team up and seek revenge on those who wronged them. The people of Salem must band together as the town finds itself under siege by the vengeful trio.”

Orpheus/John/Marlena/Steve/Kayla: “Though it’s been almost 30 years since Orpheus was last seen, his desire to take down his enemies has not dissipated one bit. Orpheus realizes the best way to strike back at John and Marlena, and Steve and Kayla, is through their loved ones.”

Clyde: “Clyde targets Chad, Aiden and Kate, and decides to take Thomas to give to Ben. Chad, Lucas and Adrienne work together to keep Thomas safe.”

Aiden/Hope/Rafe: “Aiden discovers Hope’s big secret — that she killed Stefano! What will he do with this explosive information, and how will it affect Hope and Rafe?”

Justin/Adrienne/Lucas: “As Adrienne and Lucas’s wedding approaches, Justin begins to realize he may still have feelings for his ex.”

Brady/Theresa: “With Tate safely back home, Brady and Theresa move forward with their wedding plans. However, their big day is turned upside down by some unexpected guests, and Xander vows to destroy Theresa — and Nicole.”

Chloe/Philip/Deimos/Nicole: “Chloe and Philip seek Kate’s help to keep Deimos in the dark about the baby’s paternity. Nicole and Deimos grow closer even as she is keeping the truth about Chloe’s pregnancy from him. Expect lots of twists and turns as not everything is as it seems.”

Abe: “Abe is pleasantly surprised when his old flame, Valerie Grant, returns to Salem. Theo takes an immediate dislike to her, especially when he catches her in a curious lie.”

DiMeras vs. Kiriakises: “The rivalry between the DiMera and Kiriakis clans heats up once again and things get even more complicated when Eduardo and Dario start up their own company to become major players in Salem.”

Steve/Kayla/Joey: “Despite their issues, Steve and Kayla lean on one another as they deal with a crisis involving Joey.”

JJ/Gabi: “After searching for his sister, JJ returns home with a secret which threatens to drive a wedge between him and Gabi.”

Chad: “Chad continues to mourn Abigail. He decides to focus on work and Thomas and with the help of someone from his past, he slowly begins to live again.”

Sonny/Paul: “Despite an undeniable attraction, Sonny and Paul fight their feelings for one another.”

GENERAL HOSPITAL

Co-Head Writers Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante describe autumn in Port Charles as “colorful and dramatic, with big secrets revealed, family upheaval and some new romances.”

Sonny/Carly: “They are in love. They’re happy. Her desire to keep her husband and family out of the line of fire, quite literally, will be tested in the biggest way ever.”

Jason/Sam: “They are really at a point where they kind of have everything they want and everything is looking good, but unfortunately, things for the people closest to them seem to be falling apart, and they will be drawn into other people’s lives in a very dramatic way.”

Liz/Franco: “He is very involved in a shocking reveal when he becomes privy to a secret about Liz, and an emergency pulls them closer together.”

The Hospital Killer: “The killer has a very specific agenda and there is a bit of a time clock on his or her completing this agenda.”

Julian/Alexis: “Alexis is going to be called upon to testify. A lot hangs on her. Julian is faced with two options: pleading guilty and avoiding a trial, or going to trial, though it seems almost certain that he’ll be convicted. But there may be yet a third possibility presented to him.” Alexis’s downward spiral will continue. “This is a woman who has always been a very high-functioning person, a very successful lawyer, and now she suddenly is at home with her pajamas on all day.”

Anna: “She comes back at the conclusion of the Julian trial and will have a reaction to the result of that, then promptly gets caught up in another dangerous situation. She will be compelled to take a new look at her life and examine how she wants to spend her time and her talent.”

Maxie/Nathan/Claudette/Griffin: As “Naxie’s” wedding day approaches, they must contend with his ex-wife. “Two very good men, Griffin and Nathan, fell for this woman. There’s got to be something more about her than what we’ve seen on the surface. We’ll learn more about Claudette, who has yet another piece of information to disclose. She’ll keep everyone on their toes, with Maxie front and center.”

Laura/Kevin: “Kevin has to prove to her that her concerns about his honesty and respect for her privacy and for her are real. He has some work to do when she gets back, but even in her absence, we see that he isn’t giving up. We will see whether she gives him another chance or not.”

Tracy: “She will be very busy. Tracy has a personal crisis, a family crisis, and will make a dramatic reexamination of the past. She also has to deal with the ramifications to the hospital that result from the murders. The hospital is on shaky ground and as a board member, she realizes that she has to fight for its future.”

Ava/Morgan/Kiki/Dillon: “Ava’s move to protect her daughter will have very serious consequences and we will play the attraction between Dillon and Kiki, despite their agreement [not to pursue a romance] and Kiki’s commitment to Morgan. Ava’s manipulations make Morgan harder to be with for Kiki, though she doesn’t realize why, which will begin to have a lot of
consequences.”

Lulu/Dante: “Other circumstances are going to occur around them that will make them examine what they have. They have a real, deep love for each other and we’ll see that expressed more deeply.”

Kristina/Parker/Aaron: “Kristina will continue to explore her sexual identity. That’s all we can say.”

Hayden/Finn: “Finn is a dying man and that will be a cloud over not only him, but her as she deals with him. There is definitely an attraction between the two of them, but we will see how his medical condition affects the possibility of a future. He doesn’t feel free, in certain ways, to pursue a relationship, but that becomes a harder and harder decision for him to make.”

Nina/Curtis: “The need to fill the space in her life left by the absence of a child will lead her to other adventures and she pulls in Curtis to explore the possibilities.”

Michael/Sabrina: “He feels increasingly committed to Sabrina and her child, but dramatic events may prevent them from being together.”

Jordan/Andre: “They will find themselves working on cases from different angles, which could take a toll on their relationship.”

Paul: “He finds himself in a dangerous dilemma over Julian’s trial.”

Ned/Olivia: “They have a secret and we will be seeing more of them.”

Nelle: “She becomes closer and more important to Carly and Sonny’s family and we will learn more about her.”

Valentin: Don’t rule out a comeback. “He is safely behind bars in Greece, but we know that bars aren’t very good at holding Cassadines back!”

YOUNG AND RESTLESS

“This fall is all about secrets and reveals,” promises Executive Producer/Head Writer Charles Pratt, Jr. “Some of the secrets have been festering for months! New secrets will emerge and unholy alliances will storm Genoa City!”

Victor: “Victor is putting his family back together, one child at a time. He can’t stay out of their lives, but will uncover some truths and help them get their relationships in order. He doesn’t always do things in an entirely orthodox way, but if it benefits his children, we know he’ll do just about anything.”

Nick: “Nick makes a promise to a friend that will turn his life upside down.  Or maybe it’s right-side up. There is always hope on his horizon. Nick’s power is he always lands on his feet.”

Adam/Chelsea: “Expect nothing but surprises in this story. Secrets too huge to even hint at. Adam’s love for Chelsea will grow to new heights, as it’s Adam versus the world to protect his family.”

Jack/Phyllis/Billy/Victoria: “Brash & Sassy is our favorite arena. It will rise to the top as a place where romance simmers, and scandal brews. Victoria and Billy are like moths to the flame. Jill was right to put them together, working side by side. They’re the two most compatible people around, if they can just stay out of their own ways. As for Jack, you can’t fool him for too long, or he gets suspicious. And when he gets suspicious, he’s rarely wrong.”

Chloe/Kevin/Mariah: “Chloe’s thirst for vengeance reaches a new plateau, erupting in a plume of new secrets. Chloe has always had secrets, and no one keeps them better. Kevin is caught between two women, no doubt about it. There’s his rich past with Chloe, his love of her child, Bella, and at the same time, a friendship with Mariah is something he can’t let go of. Yes, in a perfect world he may want both. Let’s hope he doesn’t blow it with both on the way there!”

Devon/Hilary: “If there’s a scandal in town — and there’ll be several — expect them to be in the middle of it!”

Ashley: “Fiercely defensive, she is out to protect her brothers, out of instinct and family loyalty. Of course that spells nothing but trouble for Ashley, always between those two men and their complicated lives. She remains the lone voice of reason, if they will just open up to her.”

Sharon/Dylan: “They are on pretty solid ground right now, but there is the secret of Sully. Expect a dramatic turn or two.”

BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL

“The Forrester family is in complete upheaval over Eric’s relationship with Quinn,” teases Executive Producer/Head Writer Bradley Bell. “They’re all concerned about their patriarch, and this will divide the family like it has rarely been divided before. As we move through fall, the animosity between the Forresters grows in intensity and the stakes become higher than they’ve ever been in love, romance, high fashion, business, and most importantly, family.”

The Forresters: “The Forresters are at war with each other, the likes of which has not been seen before, and the future of Forrester Creations hangs in the balance when Eric announces that his love for Quinn, and their relationship, is the most important thing in his world. Hoping for his children and grandchildren’s unconditional love and acceptance, Eric makes it very clear that he will not allow his new lover, or himself, to be disrespected in any way. Given that Eric, under Quinn’s advisement, has retaken the throne as CEO, there isn’t much his children can do about the situation. Or is there?”

Ridge/Brooke: “Ridge and Brooke re-bond over their mutual concern for Eric’s mental and physical well-being while with Quinn. Together, they devise a plan to regain control of the company and oust Quinn once and for all. However, their plan and her closeness with Ridge has great impact on Brooke’s current relationship with Bill, who has no intention of letting go of Brooke now that he and Katie have resolved their differences. A shrewd businessman himself, Bill uses what Ridge and Brooke want from him as a means to an end in his pursuit of Brooke.  Will Brooke’s love for Bill surpass her loyalty and love for the Forrester family?  The secret she and Ridge are keeping, coupled with the return of RJ, could be the undoing of Bill.”

Ivy: “Realizing that Ivy may be able to help her in her predicament with Wyatt, Quinn makes Ivy an offer that can’t be refused. Ivy swears her loyalty to Quinn and Eric, and it is seemingly the three of them against the world.”

Wyatt/Steffy/Liam: “In Steffy’s mind, the only thing that could be worse than Quinn returning to Forrester would be a return of Ivy and Quinn together at Forrester. When she realizes that her cousin is back in town and working with her sworn nemesis, the halls of Forrester Creations become a marked battleground. Meanwhile, both Liam and Wyatt continue to vie for Steffy’s heart. Wyatt finds himself in the uncomfortable position of having to fight for his marriage because of his mother, and Liam takes full advantage of the situation.”
