1982: Tom (then-Justin Deas) and Margo’s (then-Margaret Colin) quirky courtship involved a series of wacky adventures, including one that took them to a remote African village, where Margo almost became the local chief’s new wife.
1983: Their unorthodox wedding was a surprise affair for the happy couple’s friends and family.
1987-88: Margo (then-Hillary B. Smith, second from l.) slept with her partner, Hal (Benjamin Hendrickson, c.), which produced baby Adam and complicated things with their respective spouses, Barbara (Colleen Zenk Pinter) and Tom (Scott Holmes).
1992-93: When Margo (Ellen Dolan) was raped, Tom supported her through a series of HIV tests, which were thankfully negative.
1996: Hal wanted to let Adam know that he was his father, stirring up old animosity between Hal, Margo and Tom. The boy took the news well when he was finally told.
1998-99: Tom had a brief fling with Emily (Kelley Menighan Hensley), who got pregnant. Suddenly, the marriage was in trouble again.
2000: After their love was tested by Margo’s rebound involvement with nefarious Alec, Margo and Tom renewed their vows.
2002: Margo’s rape came back to haunt her when she was diagnosed with hepatitis. Katie (Terri Colombino) donated part of her liver to save her sister.
