Out Of Site
In 1987, Stephanie hired Clarke to romance her daughter, Kristen, so this relationship started off as a deception, but even Steph didn’t count on the couple eloping. After getting hitched, Clarke was blackmailed by his pregnant ex-girlfriend for $100,000. He got the funds from Kristen by pointing to a house under construction and claiming it was their new home that needed some extra capital. When Kristen later visited the site, she learned from a worker that her hubby’s story was nothing but a house of cards.
Naked Ambition
Donna was hopping mad in 1988 when she found out that her nudie pix were being published in the United States and not in European magazines, as she was first promised. Upon learning that local publishing magnate Bill Spencer was the owner of the smut, she went undercover as an office intern. She arranged to have Bill photographed naked at his health club, then got the snapshots published in one of his own mags called Stud.
Identity Crisis
When Macy and Thorne fell in love in 1990, she neglected to tell him that she was the daughter of his family’s business enemy, Sally Spectra. Macy was outed when a photographer snapped her at Sally’s private wedding. Thorne was naturally outraged to read about his now fiancé’s identity in a magazine. The engagement was called off, but the lovebirds later reconciled.
Tex Mess
In 1992, Faith Roberts was waitressing at a diner in Texas when Taylor’s ex-husband, Blake Hayes, strolled in. He immediately recognized that the hash slinger bore an uncanny resemblance to Ridge’s late wife, Caroline. Blake then got the truth out of Faith’s “mother,” Bonnie: It turned out that Faith was really Caroline’s twin sister, Karen, who’d been abducted from her crib years ago. Bonnie was pals with the kidnappers and feared they would harm the child, so she took off with her and had hidden out all these years in Texas. Faith, er, Karen finally learned the truth and was delivered back to her family in L.A.
