1993
Harley and Mallet traveled to Washington, D.C. to search for her dad’s name on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Turned out, Buzz was alive and soon appeared in Springfield. Harley eventually made peace with her dad, who, with mom Nadine, Frank and Eleni (Melina Kanakaredes), threw Harley and Mallet a surprise wedding. “As we started working on the wedding, it became very touching to me. I thought, ‘This is perfect,’ and I couldn’t imagine it any other way.” The newlyweds relocated to Florida. 
1997-99
With her marriage on the rocks, Harley returned to her hometown and teamed up with Jenna to bring down the slimy Jeffrey. During this time, Mallett called and asked for a divorce. As the investigation continued, love blossomed between Harley and her old pal, Phillip (Grant Aleksander). “I thought we had chemistry when we first worked together 10 years ago,” she noted. Enter
Beth, who still carried a torch for her first love. Despite Beth’s meddling, Harley and Phillip tied the knot at City Hall in New York City in 1998. The following year became Harley’s baby boom. She reconnected with a now-teenage
Susan and gave birth to Zach, her son with Phillip.
2000-2001
Harley discovered that Phillip and Beth had slept together. After several tries to repair their broken marriage, the couple called it quits. A drunk
Harley and Rick (Michael O’Leary) hit the sheets one night, and she learned
that she was pregnant with his child. “There’s a little side of Harley that [enjoyed] Phillip’s pain. It may not be the most mature choice, but it’s very human, and above all, that’s what Harley is,” she shared. While dealing with her complicated love life, Harley worked at the police station and butted heads with fellow cop Gus, who helped deliver her second son, Jude.
2002-present
The bickering banter gave way to passionate kisses between Gus (Ricky Paull Goldin) and Harley in 2002. “I loved all the first stuff when we were kissing because we really love to kiss each other,” laughed Ehlers. Gus’s
sister, Eden, and Phillip caused problems, but the duo did not falter. Together, they searched for Gus’s biological parents, which turned out to haunt Harley down the road. Gus bonded so well with his new family, the Spauldings, he covered for them when Alexandra was involved in a drug ring.
Harley learned the truth and dumped Gus on their wedding day. The two grew close again after Phillip was murdered.
