Harley’s Ride

Comments

1987
Viewers met Harley when she and big brother Frank crashed into a joy-riding Alan-Michael (Carl T. Evans) and Dinah. “Harley was having a baby my very first episode,” recalled Beth Ehlers. “I had absolutely no experience in
that area, either. I kept asking the cameramen, ‘Have you got any kids? What
should I be doing?'” Harley delivered her daughter, Daisy, and later put the infant up for adoption.
1988-89
In order to get their hands on Alan-Michael’s Spaulding trust fund, he and
Harley wed. In 1989, Harley’s ex — and Daisy’s father — Dylan (Morgan
Englund
), returned to Springfield, and the two located their daughter,
renamed Susan Lemay. “Alan-Michael was so hurt by that. It was a really good
story,” she said.
1990
Harley and A-M divorced, and she landed a job as Marah (Ashley Peldon) and
Shayne’s (Travis Cartier) nanny to make ends meet. “That’s where Harley finally got her heart. Caring for those kids was a real turning point for
her.” Reva’s presumed demise left Harley in charge of the Lewises, and eventually she and Josh pursued a romance. “That was our Jane Eyre storyline. The angry, destroyed Mr. Rochester and little Jane Eyre trying to
pick up the pieces.”
1991-92
After Josh dumped Harley, she joined the police academy, where she met and fell in love with her instructor, Mallet (Mark Derwin). “That was my favorite story,” she concluded. “Not just because of Mallet, but actors in
the police academy were a great group.”
