At the hospital, Lizzie told Beth she couldn’t make it on her own and Beth agreed to let her back into the family fold. As a reward for moving home, Beth gifted her daughter with the promised blank check. Lizzie then used her new-found funds to buy an engagement ring from a man with a briefcase. Meanwhile Buzz and Coop received a post card that Gus and Harley sent from the airport before leaving on their honeymoon. Also in the mailbag? An acceptance letter for Coop to a writers’ workshop at Oxford; Buzz had sent the application on Coop’s behalf. Coop was excited by his acceptance, but unsure whether he wanted to leave Springfield for four months. Lizzie arrived at Company and pulled Coop outside. She planted a kiss on him before getting down on one knee and proposing marriage. Meanwhile, Beth and Buzz recalled what they were up to at Coop and Lizzie’s age: Beth was dating Phillip, while Buzz was married with Frank on the way.
Rick caught Edmund stealing drugs from the hospital medicine cabinet, palming a powerful painkiller. Rick accused Edmund of being addicted and gave him the number of a rehab center, not knowing that Edmund had also snagged the labor-inducing drug. From Towers, Michelle scheduled a paternity test, but couldn’t get out of the suite (Edmund had locked her in). Before the hotel staff could release her, Edmund arrived and talked Michelle out of having a paternity test. While Michelle napped, Edmund injected her with a labor-inducing drug.
Danny and Marina were still lounging in bed days after hitting the sheets. That is, until she got a call to report for a police assignment. Though Danny tried to coax her to stay, Marina met her instructor, Mallet, outside Company. Her assignment? Get a fake ID dealer to sell her a phony license at Outskirts. Mod squad Marina got her mark to offer her a fake ID, and she agreed to leave the bar with him despite Mallet’s orders to stay in sight. When Marina tried to leave, the perp attacked her. Meanwhile, Danny got a call about Robbie being homesick at camp after a call from Michelle. Danny picked Robbie up and took him to the hospital, where Danny questioned Rick about Michelle’s whereabouts. Danny found out from Robbie’s camp that Michelle was staying at Towers and, after leaving Robbie with Rick (because he clearly doesn’t have any doctoring to do), left to track down his ex.
