Cassie met up with Jeffrey, who seemed to be suffering from a bad cold, in Company. Edmund was sitting outside the restaurant, talking to the baby about their little secret. When he went inside to meet up with Cassie and Jeffrey, Edmund warned Jeffrey to stay away from the baby with his cold, so Cassie convinced her boyfriend to go with her to the hospital for Hope’s checkup, so a doctor could look at him, too.
In the fake farmhouse, Dinah read the newspaper article about Michelle’s baby dying. She poured a glass of wine, and toasted Michelle: “To us, we deserve better things, and may things turn around for both of us as soon as possible.” Edmund walked in then, complaining that Cassie was stuck on Jeffrey: “What hold does he have on her?” Richard’s face,” Dinah answered. She continued reading the article, but after Edmund mentioned raising a baby with Cassie, she looked shocked and realized he stole Michelle’s baby. Edmund was delighted she figured it out, because he had been dying to tell someone. She realized he’d never let her go, and faked a panic attack to make him refill a prescription for anxiety medication. When he left, she toasted his picture, promising to get out of there and make him pay for all the pain he caused her.
Danny and Robbie prepared to throw Michelle a mini Bauer barbecue, since she missed the real one. Ross showed up for a visit. He shared his concern about his missing daughter, saying Dinah disappeared right after the baby was born. This prompted Michelle to fish for details about Hope. Danny pulled Ross aside, expressing his concern over Michelle, because he wanted her to get over the baby. Later, Michelle asked if they could visit Cassie on their way to the park. Danny thought that was a bad idea, and told her to focus on Robbie. She tearfully asked if the baby was alive and was his if they’d have been a family again. Danny didn’t know what to say. Later, he showed her a white rose bush that was delivered, so they could plant it in memory of the baby. She started to feel ill, so Danny insisted on taking her to the hospital…. At Cedars, Cassie and Jeffrey came out of his exam, Jeffrey took off to get his briefcase at Company, while Cassie waited for Hope’s appointment. Jeffrey literally ran into Edmund outside the restaurant, where he picked up the pills Ed dropped. The DA wondered why the prescription was for Dinah. Edmund is just brilliant, isn’t he?…. Back at the hospital, Michelle came face to face with Cassie. Danny looked on as Michelle gazed at the baby.
Gus and Harley walked into the Spaulding boardroom. She congratulated him on being the new CEO, but he reminded her that no votes had been cast yet. Blake came in and told them Alan had been taken to the hospital. Gus took off because he knew his dad “had something up his straitjacket sleeve.” Blake studied Harley’s face and told her she looked like she was developing hives. Harley insisted she was going to stand by Gus, even though she knew what Spaulding could do to people.
India von Halkein strolled into Alan’s hospital room, and said she was there to make sure Spaudling was closed to him forever. She found it laughable that Beth could be CEO, so she was planning on voting for Gus. “You make Alexandra look like Mother Theresa,” she told him, and headed out…. Gus was the next visitor. Alan said he didn’t blame Gus for having doubts about the meeting, because clearly being CEO was going to be a bad idea. Alan unsettled his son, telling him “Harley’s gonna lose all respect for you.”…. Later, Alan called Beth in Boston and told her to get back ASAP.
Lizzie told Alexandra how she rerouted her mother’s plane, because she didn’t want Beth to be CEO. Then Alex spotted India: “Look what the cats dragged in,” she told her old rival. “Good thing the cats are smart,” India answered. She told Alex she had visited Alan, which Alex hadn’t yet. “Business comes before dying in Spaulding land,” India said, before strolling into the board room, where she greeted Blake and Harley. Gus and Ross, with Alan-Michael and Lucy’s (who he informed everyone had broken up) proxies, entered next. Lizzie had Mindy’s proxy, so the meeting began. Gus addressed the board. He began to tell him the changes he wanted to make at the company, but instead thought the picture of himself on the wall was telling him he was making a huge mistake, and that if he was CEO, he would lose Harley. His new bride asked if he was okay, and he said he was fine, but needed to get some air. “I should’ve made popcorn,” India said, watching him leave with amusement. (I like her, she’s delightfully snarky. Can she stay?). Alex called for a vote, but Harley asked to speak first. She made an inspirational speech about Spaulding’s capability to make a difference, then took off after Gus, while Alex called for the vote again. Gus told Harley he really didn’t want to be CEO, and headed out for food, while Blake and Ross came out and told Harley a decision had quickly been made. Ross wished her good luck, and Blake pulled her back into the board room. Alex announced that Harley, of all people, had been voted CEO. Blake, India and Lizzie looked pleased.
