Ava railed to Coop about being Olivia’s daughter. The tirade was interrupted by a call from Ashlee, who summoned them to Company as Buzz had asked her to do. They arrived to find Buzz with Olivia, who had also been duped into showing up for a surprise family dinner. None of the guests were pleased. Still they broke bread together as Ashlee served them and blathered on about how much Ava and Olivia resemble each other. She helpfully added that her own mother, Doris, is also a “bitch.” Liv downed wine, Ava was speechless, Coop shifted uncomfortably and Buzz sent the blabby waitress away. Olivia pronounced the dinner over and stalked off, with Buzz in pursuit. Once they were gone, Ava announced that she got her appetite back and Coop suggested they order room service. On their way out of Company, Coop and Ava ran into Alan-Michael, who hoped to order soup. Coop flipped the open sign to “closed,” but Ava offered to work late with A-M and said she’d find him soup at the market. Coop was irked, but Ava said she needed to get her mind off Olivia. He gave in and watched her share a smoldering look with A-M before they left together.
At the Beacon, Buzz trailed Olivia to her room as she raged about his own parental missteps and then bashed him as being beneath her: not rich and powerful enough and so on. Buzz totally saw through her anger and calmly informed Liv that she needed someone to love her and stand by her. Moved, she threw her arms around him and apologized for her cruel outburst. “You weren’t lashing out at me. You were lashing out at him,” observed Buzz, who was referring to the rapist who sired Ava. After counseling Liv to find a way to forgive, Buzz made his exit. In the meantime, A-M encouraged Ava to ascertain the truth about her dad, saying that perhaps Olivia is lying about him.
As Reva lay in a heap on the floor at Towers, Josh proposed that he, Cassie and RJ make an impromptu jaunt to Paris. Lickety-split they were aboard the Lewis jet, which was well-stocked with champagne, and Reva was rushed into Cedars. Lillian, Rick and Mel got to work on the patient as Billy stood by. Lillian questioned why Reva was in possession of a certain medicine, but Billy was reluctant to say anything…. Back on the jet, Cassie observed that Josh is still worried about Billy’s fall off the wagon and suggested that perhaps they should stay closer to home. Lewis still wanted to make the trip. Back at the hospital, Billy admitted to the medical team that Reva was diagnosed with breast cancer six months ago and been treated by Colin McCabe. He explained that no one other than he and Jonathan knew. “Not even Josh?” marveled Lillian. Reva’s eyes opened and she gasped in horror and begged Billy not to let her die in a hospital. He gently explained that he had to reveal her medical secret…. Meanwhile, Josh and Cassie’s flight was delayed by foul weather, so Josh said he’d pick up work at the office until they were cleared to fly…. Against Reva’s wishes, Billy maintained that Josh be notified and picked up his cell phone. While at Lewis Construction, Josh received a call from Billy, who reported that Reva is at Cedars.
Buzz returned to Company and apologized to Coop, who warned his father not to bring “that woman” around Ava again. At her place, Olivia stared at a medal and flashed back to waking up alone in bed post-rape. There was a knock at the door and she jumped. It was Ava, who demanded the truth about her dad.
Cassie assured RJ that they are still going to Paris and promised that with Josh they’d be a “real family.”… At Cedars, Rick tried to comfort Mel, who was shaken up over Reva’s condition, but she pushed his arm away. Josh barged in and was stunned to see an ashen, unconscious Reva hooked up to monitors. “My God, what happened?” he gasped.
