On the edge of Fox Cliff, Tammy emotionally told Jonathan that she was responsible for Sandy’s death. Cassie showed up, and whisked Tammy away for a look into her own past, and Tammy’s possible future. Meanwhile, Josh basically told Jonathan that Tammy was better off without him.

First stop on Cassie and Tammy’s road trip to the past and future was the slum where they had once lived. Cassie told Tams about how they lived there with Rob Layne, who sold drugs to earn money. They recalled how social services took Tammy away, and how she had to live in various foster homes. Next, Cassie tried to make Tammy go into Teasers, the strip club where she worked when Tams was little. They didn’t end up going in, but Cassie insinuated that Jonathan was Tammy’s Rob Layne, and that all the things that had happened over the last year, like the fire and Sandy’s death, would never have happened pre-Jonathan. The last stop on the tour was back at the farmhouse, where Cassie and Tammy bonded over happier memories. Cassie wanted back the little girl that Tammy had once been. Tams broke down and told her mom that she was tired of fighting, and wanted her life back. She asked if she could rest alone for a while.

Tammy slipped on her jacket, and climbed out the window, but Cassie caught her and Tammy fell, twisting her ankle. Cassie brought her to the hospital, but stooped to drastic measures, and locked her daughter in the morgue. Cassie then ran into Josh and told him that Tammy had tried to run away, so she had to “show” her daughter. “Show her what?” Josh asked. Why the Mole’s petrified corpse, of course…. In the morgue, Tammy freaked out when she saw Sandy’s body and flashed back to several moments in her history with Sandy. She even pictured talking to Sandy’s ghost.

Jonathan called Tammy from the hotel, told her he loved her and then set off to find her. He stopped by the farmhouse, and spotted a phone directory open to the hospital page (Yeah, like Cassie doesn’t know where Cedars is.) and set off after Tammy. He broke open the morgue door, found a dazed Tammy, covered Sandy’s body and carried her out of there. She asked him to take her to the cliff, where she told him that Cassie “wanted me to believe that choosing you killed Sandy.” She believed that she caused Sandy’s death by not choosing earlier between him and Jonathan. She wept uncontrollably, until Jonathan finally admitted that it was his fault, because he paid the lawyer to lose Sandy and Ava’s divorce papers, and he tipped off the cops to Sandy’s bigamy.
